Has anyone installed the Bestop Tonneau Cover yet? I'm curious to know how this product performs in comparison to what else is out there. Your opinions are appreciated - thanks!

Which one did you get? How does it hold up in rain?

Edit: Looks like an awesome product, but I'm not ready to drill into my truck for installation of a tonneau cover at this time. Maybe down the road this would be a viable option for me. I appreciate the suggestion!

I did the American Rack System (not the ladder racks). Come with Yakima tracks welded onto the side rails so you can easily install landing pads and gear up - I use mine to keep kayaks, bikes, and paddles above the bed while having everything lockable and dry in the bed. When you need your bed space back to haul larger items, the racks can pop off in 2 mins.

You have to drill 3 holes into the composite sidewalls and run rain tubes through them. This sheds the majority of the water off. Then you will only have a small gap on each side of the canister to fill (I used some mini cell and silicone) and now I can be driving in a downpour and everything stays dry. You'll occasionally see a drop or two along the side walls but nothing that would get your stuff wet. Very happy with the purchase.

Understand completely, I never would have committed to doing that either if not for a friend who bought the same setup for a new Taco and evangelized it. I'm a convert as well... worth the holes (and since it's relatively thin plastic, it is an easy drill). Best of luck with getting the right cover for your needs though!

    Cheers

Thank you for the suggestion and it does look like an awesome product. I'm still just weighing all of my options before I decide on something. Canopies are still on my mind, as well as about a million tonneau covers. I'm even thinking of just not doing anything and using dewalt/pelican/action packer style boxes - I know they aren't secure, but will keep stuff dry on road trips.
