I saw on the first page (sorry didn't read all other 7 pages) where someone had mentioned making them for trucks with camper/caps... I have recently installed an Leer topper. With the reduced visibility this would be great for backing up with some extra light

I am VERY interested! I have been wanting to do some sort of bed lights for a long time. This looks like a perfect solution with little to no compromise utlizing the existing OE appearance.

Thank you for the interest and feedback. The truck caps are certainly something that is growing in popularity based on the feedback I have received. My focus will be to get these on the 1st and 2nd gen's then I will look into what modifications can be made to make it fit the camper/cap crowd.

@TacoStandCT - is there a best method to pull out the light base and remove the sticky gasket?

What minimum ambient temp is needed to get good adhesion for the gasket between the truck body and the provided plate?

    Remove the Brake Light
When removing the light and OEM gasket it helps if it is warm out , so if you have access to a heated garage that might be helpful. In order to pull the light base out you need to remove the screws and firmly but carefully pull the whole light assembly out. My OEM gasket ended up ripping in half when doing this (which is fine). It might be helpful to have two sets of hands so you can get your fingers behind it and pull the whole light at one time.

    Peal off the old gasket
Once you have it off the truck I was able to just peel the old gasket off of the truck and brake light with my fingers. Most of the gasket came off in one piece and then I used goo-off for the small pieces of adhesive left behind. Once you are done you should have a clean truck and brake light surface.

Apply new gasket to brake Light
There should be one gasket already attached to the Better Bed Light bracket for you. There was another gasket that was provided, attach this one to the back of the OEM brake light assembly, it would probably be helpful to do this somewhere warm (like inside) for good adhesion. I will check with the manufacturer to see if they have recommended temperatures.

    Attach whole assembly to truck
As far as attaching the whole assembly to the truck, it shouldn't matter what temperature you do this in. As you screw the Better Bed Light bracket and OEM brake light onto the truck with the new screws provided the gaskets will compress creating a water tight seal around the lights. You do not have to over tighten this to get a good seal. The gaskets will not be glued to the truck so you can remove the whole assembly in the future without ruining the gaskets if you would like.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
