Silvania SilverStar Ultra is a pretty good replacement.

I used the 3m headlight restore kit.
The key is to take your time and really get it smooth.
Tape off everything around the light. Good quality masking tape is what I used. Always make sure you are Wet sanding. Don't let the sanding disk become dry. I used the lower speed setting on a Dewalt cordless drill. Keep moving and never stay in one spot while sanding.

Before you apply the cover sealant make sure the headlight is DRY.
I waited a couple hours and applied it in the evening when it was not really hot outside. Let mine sit over night before I drove. That way I didn't get any dust in the cover sealant.

Silver Stars have always burnt out fast for me. There is alot of decent lighting choices, I usually match fog and HL color. Read Amazon reviews one some and see what you think

Silver Stars in all my vehicles and they last forever for me.

Aftermarket headlight housings can be pretty good, even el cheapo ebay/Amazon units, as long as you carefully seal the two halves with clear silicon and let it dry before installing.

I’d stick with an h4, it led, hud, or h11 for the reasons listed in the thread linked above.

For me, wanting the best performance with an oem wire harness, but still budget friendly, I chose the philips Xtreme +130

Which I believe are not DOT approved in the US. Which is why they are not sold here.

For 06 Tacoma, the stock headlight bulbs should be H4, not H11. Did you change the after-market headlight assembly?

As the thread on the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade states, that's probably the best bulb one can get and not upgrade the truck's wiring. I have the UHU in my Tacoma, but those bulbs in my 2006 Scion xB daily driver and they're very good.

Thanks guys for all the valuable information, much reading to do to make a decision I guess, don’t want to be hasty deciding what to do,
And no I have not changed any wiring.

    Thanks again
