If we just kill everyone we'll solve every problem ever: no more problems.

Solution: kill everyone. No more complaints, no more issues.

I agree with everything you said, but the dude who posted was kinda leaning torward conspiracy theory type stuff. I dont think CDC is trying to trick anyone to gain funding leverage. Higher densities of people are going to be relatively more susceptible to an outbreak, both because more people per square mile travel to prone areas, and because more people in contact with one another means sicknesses spread with greater efficiency. I am sure a lot of variables went into determining the predicted spread of the virus, including the population density of the mosquito that carries the virus, human population density, number of travellers, major international airport locations and traffic, etc. Not trying to argue with anyone, just pointing out that I dont think the CDC is haphazardly drawing lines on a map to make a problem seem worse. I am pretty sure that requesting $1.9B will make more than one person ask questions as to how they came to the conclusions that they did.

They are actually a major food source for a lot of other things, without them a bunch of other things would die out. Ticks...now there's a different story. I hate ticks and as far as I know nothing depends on them for a food source.

Only thing that eats ticks in high numbers is guinea hens. The reason I posted those maps is because even years ago when we had those thousands in holding detention that tried to cross in from Mexico they weren't checked for health issues. They were just spread into several spots across the US for general integration. I came as a kid into the US and did what I had to as a teen to become a naturalized citizen of the us. As a kid I had to get a slew of vaccinations before coming into the US Legally. Do you think the thousands of people without even an Id card have that type of health check coming in ? If you guys think it's all just a conspiracy theory than just put your head in the sand and pretend that it has nothing to do with it.

One of the suburbs here had a lot of deer. The residents of the area were complaining that the deer were eating their flowers and vegetables. SO, the state hires a contractor to kill off as much of the deer possible.

Now, that same area is being overrun by foxes that are eating the residents pets and babies because the venison restaurant got shut down.

The laughing, rolling heads are because of my much superior funny-ness and laugh time comment. Obviously you do not speak humor, SigSense. The Air Force maybe forbids it?

I have spent decades in outdoor Florida, including working swamps as a cross country land surveyor. I've also spent a fair amount of time in Central American and Caribbean locations where there is no mosquito control. I am not allergic to a simple bite as many folks are; I barely get an itchy bump. However, I do find that is getting worse as I age.

I've found, at least for me, that products with Picaridin work as well or better than Deet. I've even used 'military grade' 100% deet.

Even better, the Picaridin is much less damaging to clothing fabrics, plastics, etc. I've put on my socks and boots, sprayed the tops of my socks, sprayed from the knees down on my trousers and gotten nary a nibble with others around me getting eaten alive by mosquitos, no-see-ums and even picking up ticks.

Zika is serious stuff. Chikungunya is another disease, that does not have the same birth impacts, but really makes folks sick, with the weak often dying. Most folks in CONUS haven't heard of this yet, but it's coming with the Zika carriers. Have had a couple of healthy friends stricken with this, and it will flat knock you down with amazing levels of pain.
