supercharger, 3inch lift, Doug thorley long tube headers and Magnaflow pro series off road exhaust. urd 2.55 pulley, ucon ems, upgraded urd fuel pump, urd seventh injector system, 61lb mulit-fuel fuel injectors, and AFE cai.
I have a 2008 double cab sport addition that has a urd stage 3 supercharger setup with a built transmission from ipt. I am wondering if there is a beefier transmission that would fit onto my truck that could withstand over 400hp and not break. I broke my factory transmission and had to have it rebuild by ipt. then the third gear and reverse went bad and I replaced that and it seems to run fine now, but I want something that can stand the high hp and heavier towing.

There's a company I can't think of the name for right now that makes a T56 swap kit for the Tacoma 4.0, (URD?) if you need to stay 4WD though you might have to get a divorced Atlas transfer case.

A build T56 should be good to go up to 700hp, I don't think you can get a 1GR to that level without blowing it up.

Have you removed your clutch accumulator valve?

Is this an Automatic or Manual?
There is at least 1 person on here with a built 4.0 with over 400 hp.

its a 2008, so i guess by dumb luck (maybe planned) you have not blown up that 1GR, you will blow up that 1GR if you push it any higher.

that said, OEM 5 speed trans should handle 400HP just fine if well maintained and running a cooler.

what are you doing with this truck?

The A750E series 5 speed transmission that you have in your truck is rather stout for the Tacoma .
The same transmission use to come from factory in the Tundra .
This being said , were you servicing your transmission on a regular basis ?
Do you have an aftercooler suitable for assisting with the extra heat generated from towing and being supercharged ?
Are you monitoring your transmission temps ?

I do not beleive the aftermarket makes an adapter kit to fit a General motors 4L80E in place behind a Tacoma 4 liter engine .
Thats usually the go to transmission for higher horsepower swaps but the 4L80E is far less reliable than your factory transmission .

This is pretty accurate. www.lceperformance.com has or had the adapter plate. Been used on a Tacoma on this site.

Raybestos used to also offer upgraded clutch packs for the A750E. @Lucario Runner has those in his transmission with the upgraded valve body.

The 750F is a tank. I’d be putting the biggest derale cooler on that I could and then not worry about it.
