I had some kid come to the door just last week saying he had quality steaks for sale. I said no thank you. He said only $2. I said no thank you. He got all aggitated and said man I'm basically giving these to you. I said ok then, just give them to me. Leave them in my garbage can over there and GTFO my property. He rolled his eyes and left. I hate frozen steaks and I'm certainly not purchasing "mystery meat".

That's what I'm saying. These pushy bastards will actually sit out in front of your house and not move. Somebodys got to be buying this shit, though. What I want to know is why they think that I look like a guy who's going to buy questionable meat out of a truck bed? Is it the way i'm dressed?

I had a friend who bought a set for like $500 back in college; others were paying less then $200 for the same set. When I told him it wasn’t worth the marked $1999.99 or even half of what he paid, he almost cried. He was tight on cash and though he was going to be able to sell them on eBay for a profit. I felt bad for him and gave him back his money for it so he could pay his dam rent. I still have those dam speakers in my garage 8 years later.

Well that depends, how are you dressed? Describe it slow, real slow.

Reminds me, I need to get a no soliciting sign for the door. Maybe a shirt with the same on it.

or the guy in a pickup (with an odd looking metal box attachment in the bed) selling german pointer pups at Petco parking lot, that was the oddest thing...

and i had a nice looking woman try to sell frozen steaks out of her prestine Dodge Pick up and i said no thanks and she wouldn't take no for an answer until i said she was trespassing on my property and she promptly drove away.

I always thought that they were stolen speakers and that the prices were exaggerated. I haven't had a white can approach me for about 8 years now.

yeah this guy pulled up right when i was walking out of the bank and told me there were worth $2899 and after saying no for like ten min i was like whatever ill give u 200 thinkin i could turn a profit and i got home and started researching and found all this.. needless to say i was pretty pissed! i hooked the speakers all up but the amp doesn't work and the speakers do... the only reason i did is cause my dad did the same thing a few weeks back but with a different brand of speakers and his actually sound pretty good.. but lesson learned i just thought i would spread the word to anyone who doesn't already know.

Yeah, this has been a LONG time scam. I remember this when I was in high school so that would be at least 20 years ago. You would have to be brain dead not to know about this at this point.

At least 20 years. I recall this going on here in MD in the mid 1980s. You'd think they would at least change the color of the vans. If they did that they could probably fool half their previous victims again.

well just for the record it wasn't one of those big white unmarked vans that probly would have pushed it too far for me.. it was an indian guy in a mini-van and he said he was working at the casino which was right down the street... he pretty much had a reason and answer for everything, obviously not his first time.
