I believe the correct answer is, the city of Compton. At least that's my understanding from listening to a few of his songs.

Reading this breaks my heart for those who have been taken advantage of. My experience with Wyatt wasn't that great a couple years ago when I ordered a taco box through him it took 6 months to get it installed into my taco. He originally told me 1 to 2 weeks but 6 months without a truck was brutal. I did get my truck back with the taco box installed but it wasn't perfect. The taco box makes grinder noises at high way speeds and Wyatt just Blames it on Marlin crawler using higher tolerances in their taco boxes. 2 years later still not fixed and Marlin crawler just tells me to deal with Wyatt and wont help me.
In September 2020 I wanted to buy his RST 3 link kit and have him install it. So he came by my house to pick up $5000 in cash. 2 days later I decided to go a different route and told him I wanted to cancel the order and wanted a refund. He made up so many excuses saying the 3 link kit was built and he can't refund me. I told him that is not acceptable. Fought him for my money back for a whole month. He ignored my calls and texts and when he did respond told me he was having medical issues. Finally the last week of the month he picked up and arranged for me to pick up the refund check from his house. I got the check and cashed it. Check did not bounce and I am lucky to have gotten my $5000 back. The portion I paid for labor I used my credit card company to do a charge back.
Good luck to everyone out there. Hope you guys get it all back.

As proof i attached a copy of the check he refunded me for $5000.00

Uh, i don't care who it is, but i never pay for anything like that in full up front and the labor? Car work is paid for when finished, correctly. You're lucky my friend.

Wow, you got lucky. Definitely hoping for others to get refunds too:fingerscrossed:

On a separate note, just curious, why did you order RST's link "kit"? Does he only install parts that he sells. Asking because by looking at photos I do not see anything toyota specific or unique about it. It seems to have the same universal parts that Ballistic, RuffStuff, Artec, Barnes, etc. sell.

Thank you. I consider myself lucky. I Feel bad for my buddies who got screwed over though.
I ordered the RST 3 link kit cause of Big Mike's reviews on it. I wanted to match it up with RCLT like him but I changed my mind and taco is in the middle of a 1 ton swap. Best decision ever.

Yea, I hear you and consider myself real lucky. Definitely wont be doing that again. He's done work on my truck before so I trusted him.

Got you. Yea, I agree with the 1 ton swap vs the RCLT. You won't regret your decision at all.

I'm not impressed with that product, too much marketing hype around it seems like. Nothing beats a solid axle for rock crawling...unless you go IFS at the Ultra 4 level :D.

I get it that offering a bolt-on option that allows people to run bigger tires is appealing to a lot of customers. Maybe it will sell very well considering the price point because of that. Guessing that many of those jumping on the RCLT wagon will regret it and do SAS anyway down the road.

I have mixed feelings about Marlin Crawler right now. Their customer service has really taken a nose dive and hasn't help my situation for over a year now. They just tell me to check back with Wyatt at RST. That was the biggest turn off for me. They could be selling the best long travel kit in the world known to man but they won't get a cent from me with that bad attitude. I'm sure it will change the game for the people who are willing want to pay 10k for a Landcruiser 80 steering rack and a long travel kit.
Hope Marlin Crawler picks up the ball soon and stops recommending RST for their problems.

Sorry this thread has gone off the main topic and that's RST screwing people over.

They have updated info on Wyatt. They may be more open to resolving your issues now. there is no wyatt to resolve it for you, so you should be able to get it serviced by them.

My taco box did the same thing when I got my truck back. Luckily he was willing to help me. When I went to drain the old oil I only got about 6oz of black burned oil out of it. The bearings and possibly the gears were toast. I went reasonably ballistic and he ended up installing "his personal backup crawlbox" (sorry whoever he probably stole that from). Now I live with a minor leak that comes and goes. FYI last time I took my truck in to have work done the shop noticed the leak and quoted about $900 to remove the crawl box just to find out what was wrong, so expect to pay a fortune to have someone else look at it. I eventually figured my issue out by myself, but I can live with it for now.

That’s what every “link” kit is. Even the Toyota “elite” builder is nothing but fancy brackets with his name cut in them.

I disagree as 4WU makes his own parts.
Once dialed in (mine is his prototype for 1st gen Tacoma’s), 4WU parts work. I’ll confirm that Brian makes cool parts for the 1st gen.

:lalala: lol. I haven't seen any other vendor selling something similar to his bracket designed. Definitely not someone else's kit with his logo cutout for sure

    Goddam. What a shitshow.

Hate to hear Kevin is stuck in the middle of this. I did a lot of direct business with him back when he was ATO and it was always top quality workmanship and mostly on time. I still have all the stuff he made on my truck, I have not been kind to it over the past decade, and it's answered the call with ease.

Dude, if you're reading this, you need to go back into business under your own shingle again in my humble opinion. You're too goddam good at building and fab to be wasting time on other people's drama.

As for Wyatt and RST the last time I paid any attention to him was in ~2012 when he was still well thought of and the bottom hadn't fallen out. Wild to see things change so radically.

Hope everyone wades out of this mess in the best shape possible. Sympathies to those who got swindled - being cheated sucks.
