Does anyone know the location of his apparent "new shop"? That was one of the excuses for no updates on whether or not he was in possession of my parts...too much stuff shuffling between two shops

Wow, now I feel like a schtoop! I sent almost 6k to Scott back in late September, early October. I attempted to schedule, many times, my 2x4 to 4x4 transition on my wife's 2004 Taco TRD. As the holidays came closer I stepped up contact attempts. It wasn't that Scott Wyatt was in the hospital or dealing with a health issue, it was his mother's health (what I was told by him), otherwise all the other statements here about the new shop move, parts not in, etc... was given to me in spades. Well, he did return a texted request to call me. I explained that family issues have caused a financial hardship, along with my contracted employment ending right after holidays, and that I needed a refund. I explained I didn't need it exactly right now, but within a few weeks. He was contrite, understood, and said he would reach me in the new year. It's been crickets since. I am cognizant and sensitive to the private small business owner's plight, but dropping communications completely with so many customers is a massive Red Flag. I continue to attempt communications with him, but now his phone has obviously been turned off (goes immediately to a full VM box accepting no more messages), and he obviously must not turn it on since texts are not answered. Email through website is a waste of time....no response, ever. Scott, if you're reading these dire concerns you need to reach us! You leave your customers in a bind and are pushing us towards a legal place no one really ever WANTS to go. Please post here if any of you have been made whole, of late. Thanks to all who have brought this up. Hopefully it will end well and RST can get back to it's business of making toyotas all they can be off-road.

Not sure if it's okay to post the new location here but...829 W Crowther Ave, Placentia, CA 92870

Now as to what's up. Because I live nearby, I had to pay a visit to the shop for friend that lives out of state and this is what I have found so far.

The last two remaining employees are quiting after finding out he's been literally scamming people outright, including his employees. He was confronted and he confessed all of his wrongdoings and acted like it was no big deal. The one remaining job that is going to be completed that I saw is a white 4Runner that is getting a 3 link rear end. Not sure what Wyatt is planning or how long this shop will last. There are currently several pending small claims cases against him and I can only assume there will be several more in the near future. His only out at this point is to declare bankruptcy to avoid further litigation.

The reality at this point is if you have anything pending, my advice is to file a small claims case ASAP. This information is not from word of mouth but from a face-to-face confrontation. Good luck.

Thanks for finding this out. I'm happy I only got jipped a warranty, I hope everyone who has anything currently tied up can get it straightened out. Atleast we know what's going on now, and hopefully word will spread so others don't get screwed at his new place.

Same boat as everyone else. Paid RSC for a new transfer case in December and haven’t had any response from them yet. Unreal. Luckily I paid with my CC. They credited me the money so I’m not paying interest on it and are looking into the situation. Pretty messed up how this guy conducts business.

Well guys, I’ve been in the same boat and his “authorized dealer” who has been great with me with all this, had a confrontation with him as well.

November 23rd I ordered Total Chaos cam tabs, shock tower gussets and spindle gussets and I have never received anything what so ever. I called and spoke with him, left voice mails, had email correspondence and he claimed to have shipped them but couldn’t find the tracking number because of moving shops. Beginning of this month I emailed him and asked him for a tracking number or refund by the end of the week and end of week he said something along the of “my apologies I’ll get right on that” no indication of what he intended to do. Monday rolled around and I called him twice and left a voice mail and have heard nothing back from him. I ended up calling TotalChaos and driving an 1.5hr to them same day and got my parts.

When I spoke with my contact that referred me to them, he had already had MAJOR issues like this with him and said he called Wyatt and told him to get my money or contact my credit card company to get things right now. My contact said wyatt is still claiming to have said sent the parts but no tracking number.

I have already disputed this with my CC company and I’m looking at sending them a link to this thread as well. I hope everyone else gets their parts or money back. This is unreal and completely just destroyed his business. I will never recommend Wyatt or RST to anyone!

Anyone in business or thinking about opening one, it’s very simple:

a tiny bit of communication goes a long way. We all have issues in life come up, most customers understand that, but when you start taking advantage...

I actually got a response back from wyatt on Friday the 29th. I messed one of his employees through Instagram and I believe they got in touch with him and he reached out to me. I asked for a refund politely. It seems like he didn't even read what I said and he said he would ship it out that day and send tracking. I again said please give me my money back and received no response. I do believe he is going full pelfry built. I found a guy on facebook selling the wiring I needed for 100 bucks and he shipped it Saturday, and it's installed on my car as of yesterday. Regardless of whatever is happening with rst. He does a trash ass job of running a great business idea. Rst appeared to be rock solid back in the day but definitely not now.

Debit card like a smooth brain. Im in a dispute with my bank and it seems like it might work. He also refused paypal when I payed him and charged me directly. I thought it was sketchy but most off-road dudes don't try to steal from you so I didn't think anything of it.

Hope you get that back! I always pay credit card on big purchases like that cause its the banks money and you'll get it back a lot quicker lol.

whats bad is that he doesn't do most the work anyways on peoples vehicles. there was a thread on here or on his old forum on his website that he said he really didn't know how to weld and his employees did most of the fab work. so if all his employees have quit, and there are still vehicles there, and they were mine, id be heading over there now to get my property back
