Also the BFG T/A KO and KO2 are very different tires. I will never buy the KOs again. Poor performance off road if things get even slightly muddy, poor sidewall protection. What is the difference between the KO vs KO2? See the video:

The point is making educated choices can minimize the negative impact of any mods. For example running a 17" wheel instead of a 16" wheel can save you 9lbs on those KO2s. Which is 36lbs of rotating weight and that is huge.

The loss of MPGs means your truck is spending more fuel just to move itself around. With a max amount of fuel delivery fixed you have effectively reduced the disposable power your truck has by spending more just to turn the tires.

You may not care but others may like to maintain their power, fuel economy and performance while still getting the benifits of larger more aggressive tires.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
Hey I respect your opinion and yes there are some who do care about specifics but like I said it's what I like that matters-nothing else.

    To each their own.

P.S. But if one of your main concerns is "fuel economy" then I'd highly suggest that you leave the truck with it's stock OEM tires/wheels, don't even think about changing-switching them, because with those original tires/wheels is what the manufacturer has based the trucks gas mileage/fuel economy on.

Right. We are all just here to share experiances and provide information to help each other out. What is right for one may not be right for another.

I'm just not a fan of 17" wheels... If I could get 15s on my truck, I would haha! The extra cost compared to a set of 265/75r16s and 265/70r17s is about $80. Or about 2 tanks of gas, or about 600 miles for me. I wonder what the mileage increase would be dropping 36lbs of rotating weight? I imagine it would be pretty negligible... Read that dropping 100lbs of sprung weight may yield a 1-2% increase in MPGs. Not sure about unsprung weight though.

Either way, I love my TT wheels... Even if they are a little on the obese side! I definitely didn't buy a Tacoma for it's great fuel economy haha!
