Wow, $2300 for a great platform to build a trail rig. Plus $8800 to use to build it. An awesome beginning.

I gotta weld up the supports between the legs then toss up then do some finishing touches and it will be finished. Then I'm gunna put the truck up on stands and take apart the suspension to see the extent of the damage.. hopefully its just the knuckle ball joints and cv

so after calling several salvage yards ive come to the conclusion no one has any tacomas anywhere wtf i found one but it was a little 5 lug and i called copart to see if i could possibly buy a truck they has right her right now but they said no bids only and id have to wait till the end of may to see if i win and thats not guaranteed... basically it comes down to being able to find a cab thats still intact and good condition is nearly impossible without buying another truck so it is unfortunate but i am thinking about buying a used prerunner or maybe even a 4x4 and just move all my parts over to the new truck..

i kinda want a double cab and swap it to a 4x4 5spd if i can find one in decent shape i feel bad that im starting to give up on my truck due to the situation with the lack of donor vehicles :(

so what do you all think?

subbed this is exactly my truck minus the spare rack and the front bumper, any chance you're getting rid of it? and will ship it across the country????

I'd say don't give up. There's gonna be a wrecked truck that will be at the yard with the perfect cab still. Good luck, subbed!

Sweet man, props to you for keeping it alive, or rebuilding it as so to speak. Always good to keep another first gen on the road.

    Looking forward to your progress.:)

ok so heres the deal im done with salvage yards cause isnt anything in good of condition to use as a donor vehicle so ive come up with some possible options

so heres what ive come up with.. im 98% sure im gunna go through with swapping the cab and crap over to my truck. ive found a decent looking salvage truck for a good price that i might be able to bring down a bit more to leave room for some more mods but here it is
    http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/cto/2343986650.html

heres a 4 door that im also interested cause its... 4 doors. the plan if i get this is to swap my entire running gear into the dc so i have a v6 4x4 with a 5spd.. i think that would be pretty freakin sweet
    http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/2333089091.html

do you guys have any other suggestions? im going to try to get over and check out that extended cab today and see what its all about
