Yup. Honestly I've done alot.....like most of the things one can do to our trucks minus engine replacement. By no means an expert, but always happy to help.

Beauty. I'll probably take you up on that offer. Going down to St Thomas shortly after I get home so I'll be sure to throw you a text. Think I still have your number...

How's your truck been since your puddle incident?

She's a good bitch. Always gets me home no matter how I abuse her. 4-5k oil changes and she's been good. Glad I kept her.

I read a lot of their advice on ditching it... I thought they were tougher trucks than that and you've proved me right lol

I run these exact lights. You cant match the light output for the money. Make sure you seal all the way around, including the screws to seal them properly.

haven't had any moisture in them yet.

They are tough but every truck and situation is different. Learn all you can and apply that knowledge. Even if you fail you now know better for the next time. Keep on top of maintenance and research the shit out of EVERYTHING. Learn from everyone else's mistakes. These are the best pieces of advice I can give. Good luck.

    Day 2

Started running short on Noico so used it sparingly. All about driver's comforts amirite!?

Have about a 1/2 of a sheet left, ill use the remainder on the door skins.

    20180830_154222.jpg 20180830_154236.jpg
Two days of drying and checking for moisture on the carpet floor to prevent that mildew.
    20180830_160324_HDR.jpg 20180830_160343_HDR.jpg 20180830_161120.jpg

Everything went back together swimingly except I may have stripped one bolt. Not an important one mind you.

Plans to add some sort of Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) when the funds allow it. For now I'll roll with this and keep everyone updated.

    Pre-deadening:

Highway travelling (approx 100-120 km/hr) an hour averaging 56 DB with Windows up. Low 35 DB (probably at an idle) 80 DB with Windows down.

    EDIT:

In city driving is so quiet now. Highway is a bit better but no luxury car quality. Happy withthe results

Took apart the electrical and getting ready to add a 12 pin blue sea fuse box

Cleaned the air intake. Before below. After is much better.

Master power removed for now, should be relocated but designing a platform for the 100 amp fuse, master power and house sea fuse box.

    Edit:

@Norilsk I picked up some dielectric grease and applied it to the terminals. I was about to apply it to the maf and aIr intake connectors and was reading a lot of conflicting results saying it's more of an inhibitor. What's your counter arguement?

Kept putting it off for some reason, but finally swapped out both differentials and transfer case fluids.

You don’t need the LS additive, but I doubt it’ll hurt anything! It’s only needed on the 05-08 that had a mechanical LSD. I’m 09 they switched to a “simulated” LSD to where its all brake controlled. Just thought I’d let you know.

It has something to do with helping the clutch packs in the mechanical LSD. That’s all I know!

Yeah, after having hi-lift, then always leaking (you have to store it vertical, but it always tips and leaks :annoyed:) hydraulic jack, I settled for an OEM jack, that as you can see served me well!
Some guys have this jack and we used it already, quite useful, but takes a lot of space and must be stored vertical too.
    https://www.amazon.ca/Powerbuilt-64...F8&qid=1545165456&sr=8-7&keywords=jack+stands

My old garage floor jack is going to die soon, so next summer would be a good time to get that off-road jack :spending:
