Yes I have searched. Those of you with them how is the freeway noise on these tires? I'm currently on Michelin LTX AT2 which is mild AT tire and I don't even hear them on the freeway. I love the looks of the BFG but I'm worried my 20+ miles each way daily commute will be too much if they are loud.

I never found road noise an issue with the ATKO. Never had Michelin's so can't offer a comparison.

Road noise is not a problem. I'm sure they are louder then the ltx but not loud. They do like to kick gravel up like any at tire

Same as above, it also doesnt help that I have my Volant and AeroTurbine exhaust, my Ride is loud due to those items, yet the tires dont make a sound compared to those... When I had just BFG AT/KO they road well and werent too loud at all.. definitely worth it in my opinion if you go offroad or drive in other conditions.

turn the radio up, works for me :)

but any AT tire will make a little noise if there are no other sounds, it just won't be like MTs (currently I run Firestone Destination AT)

They make more noise than a street tire. But nothing like a mud terrain would. I do like that they do make noise. Cars do not tend to try to merge into me at freeway speeds anymore.

I haven't heard mine make noise, but I drive around with the radio on and turned up a little.

I've had both a few times. I won't get them this time around because I don't need the traction they provide. They're my favorite tire if I still lived in snow, though. Quiet tire for the tread.

What makes you favor the Michelin now? I love mine but I want a slightly more aggressive looking tire.

I know there will be some noise, they are AT tires but I don't want the drone that would drive me nuts on long trips.

granted i dont visit other truck forums but... this is the only place ive ever seen ppl say "OMG those tires look great" or "I want a more aggressive looking tire" wtf?!

buying a tire cause it looks cool is like buying a speaker that looks great but sounds like s*&t.... who cares how it looks vs. what you want and how it functions... most of the tires ppl talk about on here are complete crap.. just saying...

    love always,
a highway commuter, beach and snow addict....
    ps. keep the Michelins

I had them and didn't like them. Yes no noise but every body has them. Gas mileage sucked with them. Exchanged them for what I should of did the first time...Goodyear duratraks.

OP, if you want good wet traction and/or good off road traction don't get the ATKO's.

Really , why is that? I live in NorCal and don't get a ton of wet weather. I do ride and race dirt bikes and have to get in and out of staying areas in dirty/mud sometimes. Nothing serious but that's mainly why I use AT tires and not MT. Occasionally up to the snow in Tahoe or out to Moab to ride dirtbikes.

The wet traction is pretty bad, after a decent rain down here (San diego)a few months ago I was turning left from a stop sign and at about 10 MPH with gentle acceleration the back end decided it was going to try to become the front end.
And my uncle borrowed my truck a few times after a rain and one time he pulled a U turn he ended up facing oncoming traffic (he's a pretty gentle driver as he got a lot of tickets when he was growing up).
And down here in the hardish dirt they don't like to hook up, even when aired down (Mine might not air down as well because they are load range E), they do Decent in soft/damp dirt, but around here it's all hard/compacted dirt.

I don't know how they do in snow.

I've heard they are great tires for sand. Any mud and you might as well drive slicks. And I've heard they suck in snow too. If you're looking for stock size, check out Walmarts Goodyear Wrangler Authority. That's what I run. It's basically a cheaper version of the duratrac, and it only comes in stock sizes

not real noisy but gravel sticks in tread bad an starts kicking put at 50. I have had it come out for 20 miles. Next tires will be Duratracs. Better kn mud and do not pick up gravel like BFGs.

So they aren't too noisy, but the pick up gravel, suck in rain, good in sand, suck in mud and get bad mpg.

Seems like people either love or hate them. I'm not actually going to buy any tires, someone wants to trade me wheels and tires. He has 265/70/17 BFG KO's and I'm a little worried about the road noise and mpg trading my 265/70/16 michelin AT2.

The Michelins get better fuel mileage, are quieter, responsive, handle well, and do 60,000 miles easy. They don't match the BFG for loose traction, though. I just don't have much use for that need. If I drive 15k miles a year, and 300 of them are on loose traction surfaces it makes more sense for me to use the Michelins.

The look of the BFG's is pure truck, though, I do like that.
