I love my bfg at's, but I will admit they haven't seen dirt yet (fixing that shortly). Road noise is minimal.

My mpgs are fine and no problems in rain. They are an AT not a MT so not great in mud. Good on rocks with good puncture resistance. Last tank 21.2 one before 21.5

Just ask yourself what kind of driving do you do? Offroad or street? Is your truck a 4wd?

I am having a similar dilemma. My factory Rugged Trail T/A's have deep cracks in the tread after a mere 17,000km and so I am getting a warranty set of any Michelin or BFG tire.

I am trying to decide between the BFG All Terrain T/A and Michelin LTX AT/2. I love the capability (looks too) and the fact that the All Terrain T/A's are LT's. I had a set on a 93 Nissan without any problems but the Michelins are supposed to be amazing. I do more highway driving than off roading though.

Well I bought the Michelin tires for my truck but have been offered to trade wheel setups. I am a but hesitant to trade due to his tires, yes they look good but will I want to replace them after 6 months because they are loud or the killed my mpg. From the replies I don't think they will be too much louder or hurt my mpg too much. Both of them will be plenty of tire for carrying heavy loads, driving dirt roads to ride my dirt bike or handle a little snow in Tahoe. I don't off road the truck and don't plan to ever. Both sets of tires only have 10k so I will have the tires for at least a few years.

A little noise when coming to a rolling stop at a stop sign or something. From 20-5 MPH. Other than that, silent

I bought some 32's for my Jeep and love them. Barely noticeable road noise but they are a tad heavier tire. They are known to lasts 50K plus miles. I have no issues with wet traction but I don't expect much traction in caked mud. I think you will be happy with them. You may lose some mph due to a heavier tire but road noise very minimal.

I got 70,000 on 2 sets of them. Keep them rotated!
Pros: looks, quiet, great in the desert
    Cons: expensive, heavy, wet traction

I have 33's noise is not a problem. For me they have done great in mud, rain , and snow. The bfg ta ko. Now at 95+ they do get a little loud but that was literally once during an emergency. I've driven from 1 mile to 700 miles one way and they do just fine. I currently have 5k on them and they still look brand new minus a small cut in the outer rubber of the sidewall thanks to my friendly toyota service center.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have run a boat load of different tires on my trucks. I will say that I can’t recommend the KO anymore. The tire just isn’t as good as others out there.

I can’t emphasize how shitty they are in the rain, so much so that I baby my 4runner around on ramps when they are slightly damp, due to the tires breaking free.
Better tire choices would be a General Grabber, Toyo AT, Nitto, or even the Falcon AT is better than these.

Sure you can beat on the JO off-road, but they get super packed with mud and become a ski.

The compound is just super hard. Finding a tire that uses a silicone is huge when driving in wet conditions.
