Build Duratrac 265/75R16 Load rated E BAMF Rock Sliders, Pelfreybilt Front bumper and skid plates (3) Pro Runner front and rear shocks,Add-A-Leaf springs ATO (Armor Tech Offroad) hilift mounts, Famous Fabrication cb antenna/flag mount CoverKing Tactical seat covers, Flyzeye dash-light ARE Shell, backup light mod SumoSprings and Stops
I see the Duratrac 265/75 R16 come in both load range C and E. I undrstand the difference in weight and load, however I had E ranges on my 3/4 ton GMC, do I still need E or is C fine given the Tacoma is lighter.

Side wall strength is a factor with me also

Hello, im new to TW forum, and haven't gone back to read all 5 pages of posts yet, just saw the topic in the "new" section so thought I'd add my $0.02.

I've been a die hard BFG All-Terrain T/A KO fan for years. Had them on Jeep YJ (Canadian Wrangler), Nissan Pathfinder and friends have had numerous sets on their Ford Rangers, F250s, etc. Loved the tires, amazing traction in deep, wet snow and tread wore for years, but decided it was time for a change... Time for something new. Just bought a set of Goodyear Wrangler "Territory" tires on Sunday, which is a tire based on the DuraTrac that Goodyear sells exclusively through Canadian Tire stores. Only put 150km on them so far, but I'm pumped to get a dump of snow to enjoy testing them in our Manitoba winters.

    Cheers,

I recommend considering what you do with your truck. If you haul heavier loads or major off roading you may want to consider the E load. A drawback is heavier tires and slightly worse gas mileage. The C load should be fine for everyday driving. I went with the E load because I'm a little more safety conscious.

The flip side of the argument I've heard offroaders argue is that in a lighter truck the stiffer E sidewalls don't allow the tire to conform as much to terrain thus diminishing traction, even when aired down.
However the E is only 9 pounds heavier per tire than a C in 265/75/16, close to the difference between alloy and steelies.

I put my new BFG AT's to the test this weekend towing my 4runner. The Load E upgrade made a huge difference. I know load E is overkill for these trucks but with the size I wanted, I am really happy.

Damn, this vote is just as close as Romney vs Oblama, even blue and red.

I got 70K out of my BFGs, they are awesome tires. Great on and off road in every terrain, quiet, and didn't mess with the MPGs too bad. Tough tires as well.

I've heard from a lot of people the Duratracs are easy to puncture and are absolutely terrible in sand. They look great, but I prefer the BFGs.

I just bought my 3rd set of BFG all terrain KO (3 different trucks) and I love them. Every time I try and research other tires but in the end I stick with these.

I have a 2009 Tacoma, load on the tires is 109.So it's either Dura Tracs or BFG A/T KO with a load range of 120. 245/75R16 is the size.Question how much change will there be in driving and mpg, mostly city and highway, little offroad.
