Hey tacomaworld. I need some new tires to replace my new SR5 and was wondering if yall had any input. I drive mostly highway/city but also a lot of dirt roads. Do not want a noisy tire, and will have dedicated winter tires. I came across both the KO2's (200) and the AT3's (140) on Amazon. Should I save $240 and go with the AT3's or should I pony up to the BFG's? Also, can I buy a set of four, keeping the 245 sized spare or will I need to replace that as well.

Go with the at3s for how you drive. I just had a set put on yesterday and do similar driving as you but with a bit more dirt roads/back roads. I couldn'tbe happier with my choice of the at3s.

Theyre a little louder than my stock firestones but i was expecting that and its not noticeable with the radio on. They ride/handle much better than the stock tires too.

I paid $516 shipped from discount tire direct through ebay for all 4.

Which load rating did you get? 114T was my option if I remember right. Thanks for the good feedback.

I put a set of the A/T3's on my Tacoma 2 1/2 years ago. I went with P265/75/16's and have under $500 in them after the rebate. IIRC I wrote the check for $550 and got $80 back. That is out the door, including mounting, taxes and all other fees. I can't see paying extra for LT's on a Tacoma. I now have 35,000 miles on them and expect to get 15,000-20,000 more. They are reasonably quiet. Not street tire quiet, but much better than most off road tires. They have been EXCELLENT in snow and ice. I don't do any hardcore off roading, but do spend some time hunting on bad roads. They have performed very well for me in limited mud use. I've done some driving on beaches in Florida as well. I'll go back with the same tire next fall. I have two 5000+ mile trips planned within the next 6 months, so they won't last another year.

I've always been a BFG fan but everyone I know that's runs Coopers like them. I'm not fond of the looks but for $240 in savings, I may consider it. I'd also take weight and load range into account (I prefer C range).
