why they talk you out off it?
I think 255/75/17 is one of the best sizes.

I am wondering the same thing. Typically they only do that when dudes are trying to run 35’s and shit

This to me is one of the best looking, performing tires available right now and is what I am getting the end of the month. My only concern would be road noise but many have said they are pretty quiet considering. Any feedback on noise?

Haven’t noticed anything excessive yet. However, I ran the original Dura-Trac in a 265 and then bumped up to the 285. Both started making excessive road noise after the 20-25K. (Only heard at highway speeds of 60-80mph) Wasn’t unbearable but it was definitely noticeable. Hopefully with the tighter lug spacing on the new model, these will be quieter for a little longer.

Been following this thread very closely as i need to replace my 285/70/17 KO2’s soon. Thinking to go with these but still weighing my options reviews seem pretty damn good and sound promising.

I just put a set of 265/75/R16 E on my 2005 that has a slide in camper on it near permanently. Most of the snow and ice is in my driveway at the moment and it did fine there but I will need another couple storm cycles to get any real feedback up RE snow/ice.

I’ve been running the KO3 since September in a 285/75R16 and have a few thousand miles on them. So far they have seen a few weekend off-road trips in the NC mountains (NC105 and surrounding trails) and a 5 day trip in VA (Big Piney area and Pedlar Creek area). The first trip with these tires to NC105 was just after they had finished some major grading and a good week of rain on that freshly turned up soil. I was impressed with the tires going up the grades in that dark mud. Other trips have been pretty dry but I’ve been on some rocky and rutted trails (especially the VA trip) and they handled it all really well. I’m definitely held back by my ability at this point, not the tires.

Both of those areas are 3.5-4 hours from me and a good mix of highway and backroads. The noise is acceptable and they ride comfy enough even on my fairly lightweight truck. No issues on-road in the rain so far either.

I ordered as set through Costco over the weekend. I’ll see if they install them since they are not “OE Size”

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
They kicked the Falken AT4w ass, the snow performance is good for sure.
check out the “The fast lane” on YouTube , they tested the KO3, The Falken, and a Firestone and the Falken came in last.

As the owner of the Firestone Destination XT, I can confirm that its a fantastic tire in the snow. And that the K03 is similar in performance is a damn good thing

I put a new st in the just before Thanksgiving. I had a usfs cabin rental for the rest of the week to finish our hunting season.
The snow is less than normal leaving a mixture of dirt lot's of ice and some deep snow up high. The roads where we were have some steep icy sections that most people chain up for. I was one of very few trucks that were up there without chains on. It's early but I am pleased with the snow and ice performance so far.
After the Christmas rush at work I usually get out for some deep snow wheeling with the local 4×4 club. I suspect that the KO3's will not let me down. 20241129_090718.jpg

I am currently running P265/65R17 KO2s and that size still isn't available in the KO3s. My tires need to be replaced and it looks like the P265/70R17 does exist. The first post in this thread mentions he put 285/70/17s on and it looked like the same generation as mine but I'm not sure if his truck was the stock height. I don't want any rub or safety issues to arise. Does anyone have experience with 265/70/17s on a 2013 (2nd Gen) taco?
    Thanks!

265/65R17 comes out in May 2025. 265/70R17 is out in load range E only currently, load range C for that size will be out in August 2025.

265/70R17 should fit just fine on stock wheels. Running potential increases with aftermarket wheels.

Not with a stock UCA. You need some positive Caster. I have 3 degrees of positive and the back of my tire is very close to touching the mud flap when the wheel is turned full lock.

As a follow up, really the only negative I can come up with for these tires are that they definitely kick up the rocks. One of the reviews I watched mentioned that and it's definitely true, so you'll probably want mud flaps otherwise you're going to get lots of chips.
