Was told by Discount Tire sales associate that BFG MT 255/85/16 was being discontinued. He located 5 for me. Now I need 5 Blk Steelies that fit! Sad day for lovers of tall skinniest!

Discount Tire says they are backordered and Tirerack said they have them marked at a closeout price with fewer than 2 in stock, but when I tried to buy the 2, it says they are out of stock... When you read the info it seems to imply that closeout means they are selling what they have left in stock and it's not coming back...

BFG has confirmed that they have discontinued the current sku number. They are making a new carcass (it just has a Euro legal stamp added to the sidewall print) and they should start producing them again in the summer.

No idea about the KM1. I didn't think they still made the KM1 in 255/85. Just the 255/75 I think.

The info I have applies to the 255/85R16 (and probably the 255/80R17) KM2 only.

FWIW, My KM2's just love to dig when I am in 2wd in the sand. I get by ok, but not great. But since I am a 4wd I just leave it in 4wd and I've never had any issues.

Some common sense should be exercised though. haha Like if you stop while facing up hill in the sand you should just back down and not try to go forward again.

You should have told him that DT corporate and BFG told you otherwise...

I usually buy my stuff from Tirerack or DT Direct, but the closest DT to me is like 300 miles away.
