I gave up getting horses to drink a long time ago.
You seem content where you're at, so I'll just leave it be.

I run 40 PSI in my E rated Nitto Terra Grapplers and it rides just fine. I was surprised myself actually when I got them and the shop told me to run them that high.

What is the proper pressure for these tires?

    https://www.michelinman.com/all-season-tires/ltx-a-t-2.html

265/65/17 is the size I have and they are the street tires, not E rated. I was thinking 35 is good but after reading this thread some, I really don’t know. My truck is rarely loaded with any additional weight.

Toyota OEM stock PSIs are 29 for 17inch wheels, 30 for 265/70r16 and 32psi for 245/75r16. Tire pressures increase when tires warm up. Some drivers increase to 35psi cold but will warm up easily to 38-39psi which can get pretty harsh.

Here I am with 255/85R16 E rated at about 30 PSI. It would be interesting to see what Toyo recommends.

    OEM 17" is a P-metric.
    The AT2s are euro-metric.

what about C rated? i'm running 267/70/17 KO2's but they're C rated. I've been running around 38psi cold. stock sport suspension doesn't quite float over potholes. I've been wanting to ask this question for a while but thought i'd get flamed into hiding....

People have a lot of ideas about what the correct pressure is for my 265/70R17 KO2s:

    1) Toyota dealer aired down my tires from 35 to 29 when they changed the oil, and made me initial that I was running them at too high a pressure. I pointed out that the door jamb sticker applies to the stock tires and made them inflate them back. They retaliated by making me wait for a half hour before they got around to that.
    2) Independent shop I now use inflated them to 41 psi, now I know why.
    3) I run them at 35 psi because I think the ride is better and I don't really carry anything heavy. I haven't noticed any increased wear on the outside edges.

I've heard that before. But my A/Ts always look severely under inflated when I run below 33psi. No weight on the truck

I think that the math comes out to 37psi... I have the exact same setup, but I run mine at 34psi/front & 32psi/rear *cold, & rotate every 5k miles. No adverse effects on tire wear at all. It's still the stiffer sport suspension, but it does ride a lot smoother compared to 37psi...

I run my DC Extreme countries (255/85r16) at 36 cold in the back and 38 cold in the front.. but I've got an extra 200lbs hanging off the front.

I have 35k on a set of Falken MT's using in this method so far. Good even wear.

C,D,E...doesn't matter. They share the same load inflation up until their respective max. PSI.

    37 PSI

Yep, 100% if you are near the stock tire size, you can use stock tire pressure. Adding more volume from larger tires is where the calculations get harder. Truth be told we would all be beter with C rated tires reguardless of size for the loads that we carry in these trucks, but that limits tire choices and sizes.

    Yeah.
Agree that C-rated is best for regular use, but going with D or E isn't just about loads -- I went with E for extra protection on rough trails, and happy that I did. Changing a tire on a rough high-altitude shelf road is not on my bucket list.
