They’ve had that recommended inflation info on there for a while, but 41 is way too high. 32 is the sweet spot.

Where do I learn more about the calculations used to get a number? Is there an online tutorial or something?

    Thanks

32 PSI is 1,663 lbs of load inflation capacity for an LT265/65/17(extrapolated from 35-40 PSI as LT charts do not go below 35 PSI).
This would be the equivalent of inflating your stock tire to 24 PSI as far as load inflation capacity(extrapolated from 26-29 PSI as P-metric as charts do not go below 26 PSI).

E rated LT tires are not good at sidewall flex because they are so thick. I've been running mine at 45 psi in my taco. If I had a full size then I would inflate to 55 psi. If you're opposed to the ride of a properly inflated 10 ply rated tire then just stick to P rated.

This is great advice. You’ll find lots of opinions on this issue and BFGs are a polarizing topic in general.

My real world opinion on these tires is that they are perfect for my usage. I’m a hunter who drives my truck to work every day. BFGs give me a smooth ride on pavement and they stand up to Texas better than anything I’ve ever used. I’ve been beating up Toyota trucks for over 30 years. For point of reference, I had 7 flats in 50k miles with the factory TRDOR Kevlar tires. These were primarily caused by mesquite, although a couple were nails.

I’ve been running KO2s for the last 20K miles and only add air at scheduled rotation intervals. Zero problems. 40PSI makes them ride WAY too rough to me, and I too find 32psi is the sweet spot. I have some extra weight of camper shell, suspension, steel skids and side steps, and I have an OME/ 5100 setup with a single add a leaf in the rear. This is my 4th set, and all have gone to at least 75k miles with plenty of tread left.

I just put on KM3’s yesterday and the shop had em at 40psi cold. Just a data point. They seem to get up to 42 warm but my commute is only mild running on asphalt for about 10miles so don’t know what extended freeway drive will do.

32 PSI on my 5000lb Load Range E 10 ply tire equipped Tacoma. Any more than that the ride is way too harsh and the tires do not wear well.

This is what I'm getting at guys...
It's better, for comparison's sake to say, "I inflate to 'X' amount of weight and my rig weighs 'Y' amount.
Comparing PSI to PSI...there's no context.
