Have 27k miles on my tires rotated every 3 k miles I drive on graval about 3 days a week and understand it chews up the tread. But on all 4 tires there is a continues crack around the whole tire. What causes this?

The actual tires age. Even though it is a "cured" tire, the rubber still ages, and it's hard to say when the tire was manufactured, how long it sat in a warehouse somewhere until it was mounted on your truck.

BFG Fail... Nothing new, sorry to say. I see more BFG failures on the sides of the roads in Baja than any other brand. I am amazed how they remain the top brand tire. I hope someone can tell you something that will help!

Rugged Terrains are a brand new line of tires for BFG... Supposedly better than what Toyota puts on our trucks (Rugged Trails... "Rugged Fails").

You're right, I was thinking Rugged Trail's (were on my 07), sorry about that. And no, they would not age that fast.

I think he means the rugged trails fail the most. But I'm not going to lie bfg is really losing out because other tire manufacturers are making better tires for a lot less than what bfg wants.

Kinda sad these tires already performed like shit figured they would at least last awhile.. Still have tons of life in the treads.. Guess I can't expect wonders I do drive hard on them on the dirt trails we run

Cooper, Toyo, Hankook all make good all terrain (ATR, AT, ATm) tires that are not expensive. Haven't heard anything bad about Goodyear Wranglers either, but that is a pricier tire.

My OEM BFG Rugged Trail T/A's have started developing deep cracks as well after only 17,000KM (About 10K miles) so I called BFG directly. They are date coded 2013. They agreed to replace them without a hassle with any Michelin or BFG tire. I have to pay a small percentage as they are prorated for wear and have decided on the All Terrain T/A. I've had two sets before and they were great.

Better luck with BFG than what I had. My original tires lasted 55K miles. The traction was crap but since I don't offroad I bought a new set from the dealership where I bought my truck. I had two tires that had uneven wear on the inside and outside of the tire no matter where they were mounted. I rotated, and balance them had my alignment checked and still terrible wear. I only got 24k out of them before they would fail inspection. I call BFG and they told me I was not maintaining them correctly and blew me off. No more BFG for me.
