Seems to me after lots of research on these 2 tires that the Duratrac has a wimpy sidewall that is prone to punctures when compared to the BFG AT.

Anyone agree or disagree with this statement?

A strong sidewall is important to me so I am leaning towards BFG AT to mount on these old 4runner rims I just restored...31x10.5x15

Can we get an update on the mileage and tread wear on the DuraTracs? I know it's still a relatively new tire but does any one have more than 25k on a set yet?

I've personally always liked white outs because it makes the truck stand out and it's down right sexy. Nice rig!

Thanks guys.....it has only been one day....it is growing on me!

FYI update....this set up weighs 64 lbs each wheel...also weighed my winter set up as a comparison...16inch stock steelies with 265 70 R16 Pirelli Scorpion Ice&Snow ...they weighed 73 lbs each so I am hoping for a bit better MPG!

After research I choose the BFG because of the problems you are having....I think the BFG has a much stonger sidewall.

Well....LT tires can take more PSI because they are heavier and designed to carry a load.

The place that just mounted my BFG's put 44PSI in then but once I put the rims on I did the "Chalk Test" and dicovered that they were over inflated with no load in the truck and I dropped them back to 38PSI.

My truck is a first gen reg cab and therefore not too heavy.

After speaking with numerous tire carries ( I too was wondering... BFG AT or DuraTrac?) ... I am gonna go with the DuraTrac. I am moving to Connecticut in a month and I want a tire that can handle all the seasons and road conditions. On tirerack.com the duratracs are overall the better tire for most conditions. For me the important ones were light and heavy snow and ice. I also believe u can add studs to them too.

I'm guessing you are off road when you are getting your punctures. What psi do you air down to and what load rating are your tires?
