Just so you guys know I had a set of duratracs and than on my 2nd set I had my duratracs siped. The traction overall was improved and my tire life increased 15-20%

Interesting claim. Most everyone I know and even the tire places will tell you that siping typically decreases the life of the tire(ok they will not tell that up front because it is a service they are selling but I know people in the tire business). But if it is working for you keep on rolling.

Went from Baja MTZ's to Duratrac's and will never look back. Much quieter and the snow traction is unsurpassed. Hell I have been getting around in some deep Colorado snow without even throwing it into 4wd.

Siping is a service some tire companies offer to cut lines in the rubber lugs to allow them to flex more and fan out some. This typically will increase your traction on ice or hard packed snow.

Yea they do but getting them siped just put in more sipes = more traction in all weather conditions. Actually siping Increases tire life because it helps the tire stay cooler. The hot and cold cycles arent as drastic because there are more smaller tread blocks.

I have had both tires and I have been really happy with both. I haven't run the BFG's in a few years (they were on my old truck) but they handled great everywhere, mud wasn't really an issue for me. The truck was a '90 Toyota pickup. I am loving the Duratracs on my Tacoma too, no issues except they took A LOT of weights to balance.

I was originally going for the Duratracks but ran across a pretty good deal on some BFG's mounted on Mojave wheels and had to jump on it.

Thanks for posting since I live in CO too. My 2012 has not come in yet, but have been considering the Duratracs for when it does. What lift and tire size are you running?

I've always run the BFG's as my winter tire when taking off my Mickey Thompson MTZ's because they are not good on ice. The Duratracs just seem to have a good do it all tread pattern. They also scored higher in snow and ice over the BFG's in a review.

Just put the Cooper AT/3 on in November and ran through the winter. Worked well and quiet, did great through mud season. Considering studded duratracs for next winter up here.

Just picked up a pair of Duratracs in 265/75/16's, these tires look a lot more badass in person than they do in pictures I was surprised

On my last truck, a 2002 dodge diesel, I got over 70K out of them and they still had about 1/2" dread depth left. My vote is BFG all the way.

However my only complaint is they are not good in snow after a few years.

I have used the BFG All Terrain TKO's since the mid 90's and have never had a problem with them. They have done excellent on every time of terrain and they are very long lasting. I think I was averaging 75k to 80k on my tires before I would have to replace them. I just put some on my current Tacoma and they too have also done great. Took them through some really deep snow and ice this past winter and the traction was a lot better than the crappy stock tires that Toyota puts on these trucks.

I think they are also are the number one tires used on the vehicles in the Baja 1000.

Had my Duratracs put on about a month ago, and noticed right away how great the ride feels (265/70-17 C load rated) They make no more noise than my Bridgestone Revos do, and the ride is better. Went on a weeks vacation and put about 1500 kms on them, and they were great! If they wear well, then I will get them again for sure.

Just picked up some 285/70/17 duratracs a couple of days ago. They will get mounted as soon as the lift gets installed. From visual looks the seem great and have an aggressive patter which I like more than the BFGs
