Looking at some BFGs and I’m wanting white letters. Looks like these days the white lettering is actually a $150ish mark up ‘sticker kit.’ Can anyone confirm or deny this if you’ve bought a set recently?

Not sure how I feel about a sticker kit and the reviews don’t ease my mind any. There’s like 2 reviews on their site and 1 is bashing them.

My KO2's are the standard old white letters.

It sounds like someone is trying to snow you. I bought a set of BFG K02’s for my Silverado last May. I chose to not have the white lettering face out, but it’s clearly there; no extra charge and definitely not a decal. I got mine from America’s Tire.

That is a killer look and very similar to what I’m trying to achieve!

Not necessarily. This is all based off personal research. I haven’t called any tire shops or anything. Ever since I can remember BFGs have ALWAYS had white lettering. If you had black wall, it was simply because you turned the white letters in. Reason I ask, every online tire store I’ve price shopped at clearly says black wall. That could be something as simple as them not catching that small detail in their description, given 90% of tires are black wall. The sticker kit is actually on BFGs site so that’s not a fluke. But could be just a money play- mark up, as they had red, white and blue, camo, and a white outline option as well.

Depends on the size and load rating. Some RWL/OWL are not available on certain size and or load rating.

Could be the size you are looking at. If they are OEM, expect to pay more.

Try and make sure that you get a tire that comes with the white lettering already as, you are correct, the availability all depends on the size and load rating. The tires for my Tacoma came with it, whereas they weren't on the tires I had gotten for my wife's RAV4.

As others have stated it depends on the size and type of the particular BFG tire you’re looking at. The BFG’s on my Silverado and on my off-road car both have them and both are 33” tires. Regardless it’s never a decal (how would that even work?!) This is all based on personally buying the tires in question

They're pretty common on tuner cars. I have seen them on a truck or two also. They're probably vulcanized to the sidewall, but I could see them peeling away over time.

I didn’t know that, but it makes sense. Personally I prefer to run the blackwalls to save scuffing the white letters up on curbs and rocks. I used to have a classic car which I ran with the white letters out. After a year the passenger-side ones were pretty scuffed.

Same. I gave up on RWLs a long time ago. The big deal for me is as the tire ages, you can see the white band under the outer black layer of rubber, along with the scuffing problem that you noted. I also grew up cleaning white walls and am just over all of that.

This is my first truck and first set of ATs. I have been getting a laugh out of the sidewall tread blocks on my Wildpeaks. They climb up the sides of curbs with little effort. Grip off road is just stellar.

At discount tire Direct it is the other way around. The white lettering is cheaper......but this is also in a 285.

    Good info!

I used to be a big Discount Tire fan. We've used TireRack a couple times. Lately, Amazon has been nailing it for us.

Regardless, it looks like there are sites with what the OP is looking for. We don't know the particular size, but . . .

Huh? When I got my KO-Bros 265/70 R17 Load C, the shoped asked me if I wanted the white letters out or in. They certainly did not charge more for them..

My experience has been the same with white lettering; life is just too short to be cleaning tire sidewall lettering LOL!

When my Taco needs tires I’m going to look hard at the Wildpeak’s. On my Silverado I run an odd tire size and need a high load rating so I’m pretty much stuck with BFG’s, which is fine since that truck rarely see’s more than a dirt road but on my off-road car I put a pair of BFG’s on the rear and haven’t been super-impressed with them. I may try a set of Wildpeak’s on it and see how they do.

That’s always been my experience as well. I did have to go back to a tire store once to have two of the tires turned back around; the two on one-side were lettering out, the two on the other side weren’t  It was a project car I was building at the time and actually took a couple of days for me to catch it
