I've read that the rubber compound is different, but I'm not sure I've read how it was different than the KO. Is it a softer compound?

Hey everyone, I have about 1500 miles on my KO2's and love the way they have been handling in the snow, but I didn't realize that my mpg would drop down 2-3mpg around town with just putting these on and no lift. I am contemplating selling them and getting a lighter tire. What would you list these for if you were to sell them? They are 265/75/16's.

Gents, yesterday I got 275/70/17's. Discount tire did everything for $971, in about 45 minutes. So far they've just been street driven, about 50 miles.

First impression leaving the parking lot, the tire looks pretty good, but the wheel/tire ratio and size is a bit off for MY truck. I still like the looks, but the old mickeys did look better.

They ride like butter from the mickeys, and are very quiet so far. Almost no noise from 0-60.

I think because I went from a 12.5" to approx 11.8"? I gained some turning radius back. Also going down from 33" to about 32", I got some acceleration and expect to see my MPG go up some, then another touch of MPG because they are a more street-inclined tire.

On pavement, the braking distance shortened slightly, and especially in light rain.

I don't expect to see any mud, sand or ice for a while, but know what to expect from the BFG. As long as they perform as advertised, we know they aren't a MT, studded, or sand paddles. I do expect better all around performance than the Mickeys, especially on gravel. The mickeys picked up stones and would retain them horribly.

Anyway... I'm pleased with the performance of the tire so far, the service I got from Discount Tire (never used them before), and the price (I did some shopping around, and DT had the the cheapest, but most places weren't over $225/each).

10.8" wide. How is the handling and wet traction from a stop?

We've had pretty bad snowy and icy weather for the past week or so. These tires are AMAZING in it.

It wasn't wet enough for me to say really, nor did I do enough driving, but no load/typical driving habit for me, no problems. Steering is tighter and slightly more respinsive. I have confidence in these tires. I do about 100ft of gravel driving every day and they handle WAY better, it's pretty deep, loose gravel. They actually pick up more rocks (by nature of tread design), but do expell them much better. I'm pleased with my purchase and feel they are a great all around tire. They perform as advertised, and meet my expectations for why I replaced the mickey Thompsons. Would buy again.

Now, if I was going back to a mud-area, do more off roading, but still DD'ing it, I'd get duratracs again. More important than saying X is better than Y is knowing that Y isn't supposed to be used for Z. I bought these because they are supposed to perform well in what I drive in and the terrain available.

So I had 285/70/17s test fit on front driver side. I didn’t drive on it, but rubbed a bit more than I thought it would. Previously my mud flaps were removed and trimming on some of the plastic with my previous “32", but looks like I’m gonna need a cab mount chop to fit without issue. Currently, got Icons up front set at 2.5” of lift. :(

I just ordered mine from Discount Tire Direct on eBay... They are doing their $100 off $400 promo right now. I paid $612 shipped to the house for a set of 265/75r16!!! I was trying to find some in a 285/75 (thought it might motivate me to lift sooner) but they didn't have any in that size.

Still pretty damn excited... FJ TRD Trail Team wheels coming WED and new BFG AT KO2 shoes coming THUR!!!!
