I've yet to do the chalk test. Do you have any recommendations?

I haven't done the chalk test either. But I've done some searching and people are saying around 30-35, so I guess I'll give those numbers a try and see how it turns out.

All aggressive at's are going to be heavy. It's really your preference. With a 4cyl 265s will be ok and not kill gas mileage.

I've been seeing mostly that 265 are being installed vs factory size of 245. I am purchasing KO2's shortly for 16" rims. Is there much noteworthy difference? What are the pros and cons?

They're 17's but not sure on the offset. I bought the truck with the wheels on there. I think I am only rubbing plastic when I turn the wheel to the left full turn. So offset is pretty good.

Its a Steelcraft Evo3 front bumper. I have one that matches the back. Came with the truck but you can buy them off of carid.com

Lol Monte... No @m3bassman They're not chunking, just wearing like a soft compound that's been pounded into the rocks hard. I may get a pic later. it'll even out after some road miles

Yea the sidewalls are pretty flexible. The traction I got on Shoshone was great. I will still get 35-40k out of them it looks like

I really don't get it... This is what I'm seeing after 16k miles, mine seem almost brand new. Notice in particular the nipples facing between lugs toward each other. They're really wearing well.

Do you go off the street? Like aired down and on rough stuff? Those nubs facing inward go pretty deep too so thats not an accurate gauge of where you're at depth wise.

This is the kind of abuse ben and I put ours through, and it's probably why we'll only see 35k out of ours.

Most offroad use is on dirt/rocky forest roads with a heavy foot and full tire pressure. I've only had them aired down a couple times, one for a trip to Drummond Island and another for trips to Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan (not damaging). Drummond is interesting, we go in April, it's cold, the rocks are jagged, there's ice and the tires are very cold and brittle. I took a small cut to my sidewall, which ended up being cosmetic only.

For what it's worth, I have a lot of experience wheeling a cherokee on 38" boggers and several other Jeep Wranglers. Because of that, I chose not to air down too much on a stock-height truck with near stock tires. I just don't have the ground clearance to go low on pressure, so when I "aired down" I went down to only 20psi. Usually i'd go 15 with a vehicle with a bigger sidewall ratio (315/75/17s) or usually 5-8 lbs with beadlocks. This truck doesn't have either.

I'll get some calipers this weekend and measure. You're right, subjective statements don't help much.

Great pics guys, I can't wait to get out there soon with my new Taco!

Bumper should be here next week and then just got to put on the lift. Actually might do a desert run-prelift and then wait to lift this spring...

But I am almost there... These new BFG KO2s are nice tires. I wheeled the old KOs on the Rubicon once and they did fine, I imagine these would do even better.
