Yeah, that's why I'm looking at them. While also going tall and skinny. I want extra ground clearance without all the rolling resistance for my smaller engine size.

    I currently have a 2.5" full OME lift/suspension. So I shouldn't rub should I?

I don't believe you will especially since you're going with a 10mm narrower tire.

Ok cool. So, what do you think about the size? Good idea?

I've run BFG AT KOs on all my vehicles (two Wranglers, one F150, and an F350 diesel) and they've always performed well with good life (50-60k miles). I'm going to put them on my Tacoma eventually and am curious how an E rated tire will perform since that's the only rating they have in 285/75R16 size.

Looks great, thanks for posting. Thinking of having the dealer swap out to these when I take delivery of my truck. They said they'd credit me for the Toyos that come on it, so I'd pay the difference.

I personally think the 255/75 is a pretty neat size and I would love to hear some feedback on it. I almost went with that over the 265/70 but decided against it because I was stepping down from 285/70 and thought it would look way too skinny. Now that I made the swap to 265, I can tell that the 255 wouldn't look too skinny IMHO. I think I'm starting to prefer the look of it actually. The diameter is 32.1 on the 255 versus 31.6 on the 265 so that's a plus, albeit small. And they both weigh about the same within a pound or so I think. I haven't checked the price on them...are they about the same?

I personally prefer the feel of a C load versus E but I also know that is totally subjective. I have had P, LT-C and LT-E tires and of the three, I prefer the all-around feel of the C. The problem is (as you know) there are not many sizes/brands to choose from in C. I found that the weight and size of a big, heavy LT-E 285 on a Tacoma was not something I liked. Just my two cents...:)

That's good to know. I worry about them looking too skinny. I wanted a true 32" tire so I think it's probably the best way to go as they aren't too heavy as well. Price per tire is $219

I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. In most of the pics on these forums I think 285s look nice and everything else looks too small. However, when I'm out driving around I prefer the look of 255s or 265s on Tacos. I paid $224 per tire at Discount for the 265s so you'll be saving $5 per tire. :D Don't forget to post some pics once you get them on!

Taking my 285's to be balanced for a third time this week.. love the tires so far otherwise (Shops fault I'm sure, not the tires!)

Got mine installed the other day. Really pleased with them. Hitting the dirt in two days to give them a go.

Could be the tire. I had one tire that they said needed 9 oz. They blamed the brand new TRD wheel. After I had them test on another wheel, they quietly replaced the tire and deemed it faulty.

Not sure. It's basically all 4 wheels that are causing problems. I had the first shop try twice and went to a second shop that does road force (and charged an absurd amount).. and they still used a shit load of weight and I'm still getting speed vibrations (although not as bad)

Woah. Ya, that's a lot of extra weight.

The tire shop I went to has a good rep and I've had positive experiences with them before, however, this issue of balancing I had to spell it out to them a lot what to try. A less savvy person may have just taken them at their word. I know these wheels can be a challenge to balance, but I would also suggest that if they can't get the tires you have to balance, after ruling out the wheel just being untrue, they should try new tires while they are under warranty.

    Good Luck!

Thanks! I'm going to try going to a bigger shop in the next town over. Then I guess I'll try contacting Method or BFG to see what they can do...

Thanks. I was nervous ordering them, as the matte blacks seem to be the standard around here. However I think they came out awesome and I made the right choice.

I know I saw this combo on a lot of 2nd gen MGM's when I did my research. I'll try to find some examples for you.
