I did mine with failure to re seal properly. I took them apart and re silled them about 4 times with no success... I even threw a crap ton of extra sealant on and still foggy. Sooo I did what everyone told me not to do. I drilled 2 small holes with the smallest bit I had on each light. And now it works like a dream!!!! No fog, Ive driven and splashed threw deep water/Mudd. Rained on and still no water gets inside and no leaks.

Gotta be the dumbest best decision I made all year!

i didnt vote since i took the cheap way and went with the ebay ones, no problems with them tho, except for a lil aiming i had to do, plus when i step it up, and do my projectors i could combine best parts of both my headlights

I would get a color matching grill and ditch the chrome one or paint the chrome one black, and then do BHLM

Screwed mine up a little bit....didn't put enough silicone to seal it and now gets water in it every time I go to the car wash. Flaked a small chip of paint on one putting it back in as well and you can see the chrome underneath. I am going to redo them this weekend...hopefully will come out better the second time now that I know what I am doing....

I have done three, and all have been successful. the main tip i can suggest is to take your time, and dont rush any of it.

Just did mine, my only thought is either paint your side marker and blinker together or not at all. Having one painted and one chrome looks funky to me. I VHT'd my blinker lense and it's just a darker yellow. I should've left the blinker lense out.

Mine turned out pretty well. No leaks and they look good from a distance. I've got a few finger prints on the inside of the lenses and I actually got one of them a little too close to the coil inside the oven... yea, it melted the lense... I wasn't pleased!

If I ever come across another set of stock headlights for cheap, I'll definitely try it again. Next time I do it I'll try to be a bit more patient on dry time too.

For those of you who have done this mod on other types of vehicles: are the procedures the same? My Dad really likes the way it looks and I might give it a shot on his 2008 F-150.

I just did it to an 08 f-150 about a week ago. The sealant they use is different. It's a lot more stiff and if you leave them in the oven to long the clear coat over the lose will crack and it will look like shit. It's a bit trickier than a taco for sure.

Did you put it on BROIL or something? How did you get too close to the coil if you set the headlight in your oven, lens up so not to scratch it, and the coils are at the bottom. You got me scratchin my head on this one.
