I'm getting an 88 4-runner rig very soon. It's got 37" iroks on it currently but, will need replacing soon.
I've been looking at tires quite a bit lately. Really leaning to super swampers like it's already got. It will be driven on the road as well as the trail. Will a bias tsl/sxII be a good choice or should i go with a radial?
I've never ran a bias tire but, I've heard they aren't a very good choice of you plan on running them on asphalt very much at speed (not sure how fast a 22r will turn 37's with 5:29's). They get flat spots from sitting to long.
Anybody have experience with both types and is there a preference ? Thanks!

IMG_0481.jpg I'm running 38.5 bias ply boggers on my 1987 sas 4runner. 529 gears with a five speed is good for 65-70 mph out of my 22re. It's mostly a trail rig but on the road I'd rides pretty decent. If I was going to drive it daily I would go with a 37 inch radial so my boggers wouldn't wear out.

Thanks RThompson. Your 4runner looks waaay better than mine. Lol I probably won't d's this one much because of the hassle of making it street legal(rear bumper mainly, or lack thereof). I guess I'm gonna go with the TSL SX It's. They are priced right and I think they will be plenty meaty enough for my needs. 4 wheel parts here in Memphis has them advertised for $266 a piece with free shipping and I believe an in store discount on top of that. For a 36x12.00x15... A bogger in a 35x12.50x15 is $300+. I'll take another inch taller for $40 less a tire..lol20171030_154020.jpg
