This is me....used to ride quite a bit. Trying to get back into it. I still got my old profile bmx frame....I believe from 83-84. Thought of building it back up or building a hutch 24" bmx cruiser.

Hell yeah! My most recent whip is a '16 Pivot Mach 6 and it rips. It doesn't climb quite as well as my old 29'er but the trade-offs were so worth it.

Since I'm in a thread of fellow bikers I can bounce this idea off y'all...
I recently moved to a national Forrest that has a track. There are minimal jumps it's basically flat dirt through the woods (coastal SC, an ant hill is as big of a hill as we get)

I've got a stump jumper I take up to NC and ride but I think I'd be bored to tears on that on the trails by my house so I'm thinking of putting some more aggressive tires on my general lee and maybe changing the gearing up for a little more torque. Any reason why I shouldn't? I hit the trail in it yesterday and ate shit several times because I forgot my other shoes

Get a good 24" dirt jumper and sell the general and specialized. I've got a 26" slopestyle Rocky Mountain slayer that I love for mountain and dirt sections. Much better than my old DK 20" for sure.

I'm too emotionally attached to the general to do that lol

    Did someone say bikes?

I'm the president of my local chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association. Been seriously biking for the past 15 years or so. You might say that I have an addiction. About half of the bikes here belong to me, the others are my girlfriends.IMAG0161.jpg

The fatbike is a whole lot of fun. I put some low profile treads on it last summer and rode it almost exclusively. I even took it to my local lift-served DH park a couple of days just to screw around. It doesn't stop for much and all that I want to do is smile when I ride it.

How does everyone carry their bikes? I'm making my Thule cross bars fit the bed cleets right now so I can throw my mount in the bed

I have a thule big mouth on my tracker 2 system mounted on top of my leer. Works amazing. Drove it 2500 miles across the country and back with zero problems.

Laying it down a few times is a good teacher. Going from clips to clipless was worse. The muscle memory and instinct I had made me look even more ridiculous in my initial clipless runs. Many Fs were said.
Actually, it takes little time to build reflexes in clipless, and you need to tune them to your needs/feel. The power gain is so worth it. From I4 to V8.

Pretty sure you HAVE to wear spandex if you go clipless

I beg to differ. I run clipless, even DH, only time I'm wearing lycra is on the road bike.
