Yep those are the handlebar grips I have. I'm gonna fool with the bike tomorrow and try to tweak the seat a bit. Thanks for the advice!

Last Saturday I was unloading the bike and strained my lower back. It doesn't hurt to stand but sitting down or lifting anything is painful. This is really sucks because I was just getting back into biking and I'm off of work this whole week and planned on riding a bunch. Sorry for the rant, just depressed abit I guess. I'm really hoping that I can pickup the bike in a few more days.

Damn auto correct got me Susan! Lots of time on the heating pad and walking till it hurts, I can't take much in the way of OTC pain killers cause I'm on Coumadin. I really need to watch my spelling, auto correct always changes my buddy's last name to Nipple....very embarrassing :)

Just getting into mounting biking this year. Found a nice deal on a decent entry level bike a Cannondale Catalyst 2. Still very much in the learning phase, I just love hitting the few trails we have here in south Alabama.

What is the furthest anyone has ridden in a day?

It's been many years, but I've gone as far as 200 miles in a day. Those trips took about 14 hours, my legs felt like Jello afterwards, and I swore I would never do it again, but it was a fun to do... sort of.

I used to just go and ride for 60 or 70 miles on a whim with no particular destination in mind.

My sister was always trying to get me to do the MS Bike-a-thon. They would ride 150 miles over two days. I told her that was too short. o_O

Maybe it was only 150 or 160 miles.... was 20 years ago when I did the ride.

Sounds about right. I never could find people who wanted to ride long distances with me (gee I wonder why) so I usually would just ride solo. No distractions, no one to try to keep up with or keep up with you, less complicated that way I guess.

When I was in high school a friend and I had a little competition going on. He would ride so far to some place, so I would ride further. The of course he would ride further than me and so on until I hit the 100 mile mark and he called it quits. I just never stopped. I liked to push myself to see just how far I could go.

Before I was old enough to drive I used to ride to the oceanfront to hang out at the beach, check out chicks etc. that was 35 miles each way on busy roads. Playing in traffic was fun.

My furthest ride was 37 miles. Started with climbing halfway up a local mountain and then a cruz down to the beach. Almost entirely on dirt trails till the last couple miles. I did a 31 miler on the 4th with about 4k ft elevation gain.

In other news got the call from the LBS bike is 100% again. They had to true both wheels, adjust the crankset, straighten the bars and replace my rear selector after accident but I'm good as new and 0.00 cost all covered under my 1 year repair and maintenance.

My goal by the end of the summer is to ride a century (100mi). Just recently road a 40mi loop in pisgah that was based off the ORAMM endurance race. 5300' of climbing in that time. Included Kitsuma, heartbreak Ridge and that damned Curtis Creek. I'm a flat lander being based near the coast so it is challenge on extended climbs but I really enjoy it.

To answer the ? 52 mi. is my longest ride. Even though I'm young, 34, my back gives me issues often. Ok, no more whinning
