I suggest that most of you go download your state's driver's handbook and study up before posting any more ignorant drivel about who belongs where and when, because your opinion is not what ultimately matters here. If I am not mistaken, you'll find that you don't have a right to drive; you must earn the privilege to drive. That involves sharing the road with others, regardless of whether they are on foot or two wheels or four or eighteen. Maybe you'll learn something.

IMHO, I think that since bikes are considered vehicles that if they are going to be on the roads they should have tags too. Enough Said... :D

Sure there are, but who are you, to assume that an individual has the ability to drive a motorized vehicle to that neighborhood to ride on their roads?

And those cyclists arent taking away your ability to drive on that road you (barely) helped fund. So dont blame them.

You're 16. No offense, but soon you'll figure out there are much more important things in life that should be pissing you off. Neither of which are at hand.

If they're in the middle of the road, yes, absolutely. But there is certainly no reason for a motorist to be annoyed at a cyclist (who rides 2-3ft off the curbline)

Not one bit. I don't need or want attention from anyone other than my wife. Nothing to be over, except the wife...& under and around and in. America being ruined by turning it into a nanny state or what everyone came here to escape because they don't want to assimilate does make me mad tho.

That would be good. Anyone that want's to ride a bicycle on the road should have to get a bicycle license after taking a road cycling course, bicycle license plate, have to take a test and follow all rules like normal road going machines. They should be ticketed for offenses and be able to have the ability to lose that license as well. If you want to be equal you should have to pay to play... no? Sounds fair to me

I had to get a special license to ride my motorcycle on the road aside from my regular driving license. 3 day course and about $220. I paid to play...

I know, apples to oranges you say, but if you want the privileges that motorized vehicles have, you should have to earn them :)

i would buy a 3k bike and yes i would go into traffic to avoid getting a flat tire, would you intentionally beach your truck on a massive rock? i think not. if you like your investments such as your truck or a bike you will do what you need to protect it

:) ok, here's my solution to this definite hazard---for both roadies and motorists. i am an avid bicyclist----i find it to be one of the greatest joys in life frankly. however after being nearly swiped by a rich old bag in a mercedes who completely missed the traffic signal downtown and then moments later nearly hit by a lincoln navigator due to my own fault----riding across an entrance to a parking lot as he attempted to enter the lot--then having a coworker who regularly enters triathlons involved in a hit-and-run, i think i've found a personal solution; i load up my cannondale in the thule instagator in the back of my taco and DRIVE to one of the many bike/walking trails here in fox valley illinois and enjoy having few encounters with all forms of motorized vehicles.:)

i think you have issues :confused::confused: i never said swerve, if there is a branch or piece of wood in the bike lane yes i will go around it, will i swerve? I will make it known that i am going into the traffic lane, there are hand signals for a reason

if i had my family in the car and a biker swerved in front of me and i had the options of taging the biker or getting in a car accident i would tag the biker in a heartbeat. i would much rather have one sore or injured biker at the end of the day (A) than to have 2 or more wrecked cars and numerous people injured or sore (B), and it would teach the biker a lesson to look before doing stuff like that. im guessing we all would agree on option A as apposed to B

and when it comes to protecting your truck/bike, yes beaching your truck intentionally is a relevant analogy, and here is another one: if you see a piece of wood with in it nails in the road are you going to avoid it or run over it?
