    Hello friends,

Just an update. Second half of first order ships Friday or Saturday.

Following that, I will count up the current waitlist and update thread for next round.

Would there be interest in "special" colorways? I found some US flag print loom that I could add for a small extra charge, if you want to accentuate your US made wiring.

Everything paid for has been shipped, and tracking numbers sent to buyers. If you have expressed interest here or via PM for the next round, you should have something in your PMs.

I like your copper ground lug. Do you have a grounding rod like the linemen?

TC Mid Travel +2, TC SUA, king shocks, Swamp Donkey/Rigid lighting, Mechman alt, SOS/Boztek armor, ATH Fab tiedown, full active JL/Audiofrog sound system, NOICO sound deadening EVERYWHERE. Up next: roof/bed rack + dry storage, skids, bumpers, fiberglass, power wire upgrade + frame grounds, LTO battery swap, air compressor, on board pressurized water, powered cooler, suspension seats, frame reinforcement, solid motor/trans mounts.
no grounding rod I have considered an additional ground location on the frame up front for the alternator and battery to have continuity with a chassis ground and additional frame ground in the rear of the truck.

Good news for folks with a 2TR-FE (the 2.7l 4-banger crowd): This batch includes a prototype harness going to someone doing a fitment test and install writeup for me/ya'll.

PSA: A small number of kits that have already shipped have a small error of construction.

The crimp direction on the fusebox feed matters! I'm talking about the lug on the 4AWG wire that runs from the battery to the fusebox:

Why does it matter? Because of the way it feeds into the fusebox. You want that end to be as flat as possible in order to fit easily into the factory location:

To be clear, the crimp direction is ONLY critical for the fusebox end of the fusebox<->battery wire. I have also adjusted my tooling to be sure this issue does not crop up again in the future.

I have already alerted the people I believe are potentially affected, and am sending out replacements free of charge. I wanted to make the information public for two reasons:

    1) Maybe I messed up other kits and don't even realize it yet. If you bought a kit from me, I'm on the hook for this kind of problem and I want you to be able to identify it quickly and easily BEFORE you get your truck torn apart. The photos in the post linked above show the lugs without heat shrink on them for illustration purposes, but you should be able to easily tell by eye and by feel if your kit is affected. No need to cut the heat shrink off.

    2) If you're considering DIY, this is an important thing to know about.

    Thanks!

Heads up for anyone in this round who hasn't sent payment yet - the materials are incoming, and if I complete the unpaid orders before payment is tendered, those kits will go to people on the waitlist.

If you HAVE sent money (as of November 3rd, 5PM EST) you are accounted for. Thanks!

Just a quick update - first batch ships tomorrow or Saturday, the rest to follow early next week.

Several kits will be listed for direct sale due to nonpayment.

I’d like to add to this as a safety measure for proper crimping practice try to avoid sandwiching the metal in the sides of the clamp, creating sharp edges/burrs when using crimp tools (the above photo shows a hex crimp). They can cut through heat shrink and the exposed metal may contact things they are not supposed to or cut other wires when you route them.

Theoretically this is how a hex crimp would be made (double pass and single pass) using the correct lug and die for the wire size and lug. The previous photos either look to be too tightly crimped maybe using a ring terminal/lug that was slightly too large having to compress it more which could also damage the copper wire inside the lug.

Have a pics of what you are referring to? I'd like to see someone cutting into wires while routing. Or maybe show an example of this contacting things it shouldn't.. in the engine bays they were designed for.
I feel what your saying but not sold on it or concerned in the kit I bought.
