I read on TTORA that meet up is 9am on campground ready to rock

That's the 13th correct? Their dates say 13-14, this one says 12-14

Saturday the 13th are the main runs. Some people will camp Friday through Sunday. Often times there will be Sunday runs but they are not part of the official event.

Another dumb question from me :3

Anyone know for the camping if you have to purchase a campsite yourself or is it provided by TTORA?
And can I sleep in the bed of my truck vs a tent lmao

It's open camping. No need to purchase a site and yes, you can sleep in your truck, tent, trailer, etc. The only restriction is an open fire. It's a pretty big open space so there's plenty of room for everyone to camp.

I think you do need an adventure pass though.

Also, bring a shovel and tp -- you know. For business.
I suggest picking up a Forrest adventure pass. They're 30 bucks good from the time you buy for 365 days. 5 additional bucks and you get a second for a guests vehicle. You need them for anyplace that's not an official pay per site canmoground. Pretty much anywhere that has a water fountain, bathroom, fire ring, bench, established parking etc. Yellow post site have no bathrooms but you still need a pass as they do have fire rings (even if there's a open fire restriction) and a bench.

Edit: you can also get a 1 day adventure pass for 5 bucks if you're just going up for the day.

Good looking out. I always forget to add that. I edited my post.
big bear lake (I have good luck by the observatory), there's also Santa Ana south fork and Jenks Lake more towards Angelus Oaks. Jenks is 5 bucks per vehicle to get in. There's other areas as well but I haven't really ventured off to find them.

For anyone on this forum that plans on going to the TTORA Big Bear run please do us a favor and sign up over at TTORA and let us know if you plan on coming along on this run. By doing so gives us a headcount on what runs to plan for and gives Demello an idea of how much food to buy.

    Thanks.

For those of you familiar with the trails on this run, are the more advanced trails doable in a highly modified prerunner? Truck has plenty of travel, clearance, protection, locker, 35's etc. Not afraid of the the skinny pedal or scratching the truck. I'm considering going but not really interested in taking it all the up there to cruise fire roads for the "2wd" trucks

I've done everything but John Bull when I was IFS with just a rear locker, sliders and spacer lift. You can definitely get through it all if you have 4x4, just takes a little finesse. I saw an open/open stock 1st gen runner on all terrains do John Bull...
