Be sure to check the status of the Pilot Fire before you head up there. I know they have mandatory evacuations all the way to Lake Arrowead already. Could be a different situation by your guys trip.

By the way, once fire season is over, I plan on hitting some of these runs with you guys!

Here is a link to check on that status of the fire.

Clarks Summit from hwy 38 head northwest uphill on forrest road 1N04. Bear right on 1N45, then bear right back onto 1N04. Turn hard right on 2N06, go past the forest gate. Stay left to remain on 2N06 where 2N21 joins on the right. Bear right on 2N10 which is Skyline Drive. Follow 2N10 until you hit pavement. This road dumps you right next to Bear Mountain Ski Resort which is just southeast of Big Bear Lake.

Beautiful views the whole way. Easily done in 2wd.

I wouldn't worry about gas, as long as you top off at the bottom of the hill of course. The trail(s) are time comsuming, which is why they usually run long. See you there

I will bring a 5 gallon can just in case. Also , the trails that will be covered on the difficult run are Gold Mountain, White Mountain, Pontiac Sluice and Jacoby Canyon . I do not have sliders or any after market skids yet. Those of you who have experience on these trails , do you think ill have any trouble ? Just making sure I do not hold up the team.

You should be fine in jacoby canyon. I have not ran the rest of the trails.

For the moderate/difficult run, i think 20ish. Thats what one of the TTORA members recommended since we might be hitting some highways to get to the trails.

Jacoby canyon will be okay, only 2 spots that are any bit of a challenge. Gold mountain I've heard has pretty much one challenging spot.

I usually run 15 on trails, not sure how well it'll work on highway
