Big bear snow run 1/3/11

So the plan is, Saturday the 8th. .
Dont thing u will need ur chains for the HWY. But incase we do bring them with u. Also u need to have front and rear recovery points. If u dont have snow or mud tires chains will help alot. Im opened for meeting spots and time? But would like to hit the trail between 930-10. 4x4 is a big plus. Bring ur straps, shovels and dont forget ur lunch. i will have with me my coleman BBQ and a small stove incase anybody want to cook. Im Grilling Hamburgers.

where were you planning on making the meet-up point? I have some family in the riverside area so anywhere around you should be fine. I'm gonna try to get some of my cousins to come out to.

 

we can meet up of the 15 n 60 freeway for you guys and at the Mcds of the 138 exit. thinking of going up crestline insteads of the 38.

Are we doing hard core trails or just fire roads. All I'm after is to experience driving in snow.

 

Gordo always goes. his our aaa.lol mostly fire roads.once in big bear we can do anything. But gordo sold his jeep. he will be riding shootgun in my truck. But my brother might take his jeep.

 

Do you need a locker, on where you are going ?????

 

4x4 its fine. I have rear locker n only had to use them 3 time. n not for a snow run.

Haven't been up there forever, But i hear its mandatory to have chains.. No matter 4wd or not.. I've never used chains in my life of having a 4x4.. Whats the deal? Not to get off your subject just curious.

 

Chains r easy to put on. CHP is checking for chains. they want to make sure who is going up has chains. we might not even need them next saturday,but should take them incase we do. The chains are only for the Hwy. once in 3n16 we dont need them unless ur tire treads are low.

 

No cause ill be driving to TJ tomorrow. to pick up my dumbass brother in the airport. cheap ass didnt want to pay$100 more from lax.

 

Cool cool. I'll be looking for some chains off craigslist cos pepboys u can't return chains the last time I checked.

 

Last time i got them at sportchalet. n with the receipt they will take them back. but ask them before u buy them

 

just so you know the 330 is closed and your gonna have to take the 18 to get up there unless you wanna take the back way up to big bear in case you didnt know
