Welcome to SoCal! We plan on driving up from SD for this. Going to meet up with some friends in the OC area on our way up. Let me know if you want to roll together.

    I'm in!
(I'm listed as "Synergy10's friend" (with a 3rd Gen 4Runner) in the confirmed list in the first post.

Synergy10 also listed "1995 Jeep Cherokee (no lift, 31's, 4x4)"....that's our friend, and it looks like he is in. So feel free to add him to the confirmed list.
The other 2 rigs in our list are still pending.

Is the meetup time/place in the first post confirmed?

*edit*...just noticed that this is my first post, after being a member for 4 years. lol

Also, does anyone else have input for the trails that we're going to hit up? What do everyone else's trucks look like? Since we may or may not know the name of who is going it would be an easy way to spot each other. Hopefully I'll have the new tires (Nitto Exo Grapplers) on by then.

Hey fellas, so I will be taking the 5 to Irvine/OC area to meet up with friends, then heading to Big Bear from there. We can either work on a meet up spot for this route, or if you guys want to take the 15 that's fine too. I'll just see you guys in Big Bear.

    Here's my Tacoma and nihkon's 4runner:

The rig. If you are staying west on the 5, maybe me and @2BUKU can take the 15 up to Wally World and meet the rest of the crew at 730. Unless you want to look cool and convoy. I am down for anything.

Have any of the maybe's changed their mind yet? Does anyone have any input they'd like to give for the trails that we'll be going to?

I'd be willing to meet up with you there.

Please add another to the confirmed list:

As for the trail recs, I mistakenly linked my Cleghorn/Pilot Rock pictures in one of my previous posts (every time I hear Big Bear I link the two areas together). So, this will definitely be our first time out there.

Since there will be a mix of 2wd, 4wd, stock and modified/lifted trucks in the group, I think we'll be good with an easy to moderate trail. Based on a quick read about each trail, Jacoby Canyon sounds fun but I don't think it's 2wd friendly. More input from others that have been there before would definitely help.

I'll be heading out from the OC area Saturday morning instead of my original plan of leaving from SD.

I have some video of Jacoby Canyon. Going west to east (mostly downhill) a 2WD truck should make it through if it has good clearance and tires. According to my copy of Southern California Guide to California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails it's rated as moderate due to being: "Mostly easy but a bit steep and narrow in places." and "The only real challenge comes at 1.8 miles on a short, steep hill with some small moguls." If someone feels like showing off there are some places to take harder lines and climb bigger rocks. I can give detailed trail descriptions of what I put in the poll for any who are interested.

The photo of my truck from the front was also taken at Jacoby Canyon in one of the rockiest spots.
