I agree. Jacoby is 2wd. But only one direction, high clearance & good tires. Also it gets A LOT of traffic. The jeep tour guides take people out on that trail. I broke a spindle bolt on that trail. I know it all too well. It's fun though

Jacoby trail is 2wd friendly as long as we end at 18 and don't start from that side. The very end of the trail leading up to 18 has some pretty steep steps that a 2wd would have a lot of trouble getting up and over.

I may be down to join for a bit and caravan up with any San Diego guys. I'll only be going for the day though and not camping. Also, I'll probably skip the Skyline Drive part since it's pretty boring.

    List updated appropriately.

We have a large group that seems to be going so I have no idea.

I've never camped at an actual campground in Big Bear. I've always just found an open area and stopped for the night, though the campgrounds are probably emptier at this colder time of the year. I am thinking of camping but am still unsure if I'm bringing a passenger or not.

true, I just don't like having to pay a fee to camp. Haha. You're welcome to camp with us, same goes for anyone else wanting to camp this weekend

We'll do some map/blm land research today and try and find a cool spot

We would love to but we leave for Death Valley Monday morning. Gotta do some truck maintenance, mount new shoes onto Lucille, pack, etc. I believe there's still a moratorium on open wood fires. If you all can obtain a propane fire ring and a mini heater for your tent (probably be fine sleeping in your topper with a few blankets and Mike. lol) then things would be a bit more cozy. Supposed to be in the high 20's low 30's up there at night this weekend. Here's a map of some yellow post sites.
