Yep, Never camped at a campground either. Usually at a Yellow Post or in a open area just off the trail, Sometimes directly on snow.

Im still trying to see if I can make it. I need to install a new skid plate. My old one got wrecked on the Mojave trail a few weeks ago hah

Not sure if Im gonna camp though, might be a bit too cold and my cold weather gear isnt up to snuff really at the moment

Where did you wreck your skid plate on the Mojave? I just ran it Veterans day weekend.

Here's a shameless link to my write up on the Mojave:

The trails that are certain are: Skyline Drive, 3N16, and Jacoby Canyon. The others depend on how long it takes the group to get through. Some are camping and some are not.

Will we be stopping at a gas station in Big Bear before hitting the trails?

There are plenty of gas stations in Redlands; unless your gas tank is eight gallons or you get five MPG we should all be fine.

    I hear ya. Thanks.

Also....what route will be be taking to get to the trails?
From Redlands, will we be taking Hwy 38 through the Yucaipa area to Clarks Grade/Skyline then into into Big Bear? Or heading up the 330 into Big Bear?
Then 3N09 up to 3N16, then over to Jacoby?
Or am I completely off? lol

Sorry for the questions, I just like to be prepared.

I dont know wtf happened, but we were going over that washed out, rocky area by Piute and some dirtbikes came in the opposite direction. I had to take a bad line, banged the hell out of it.

Man... I wish you guys were doing Gold Mountain or Holcomb Creek! I would definitely be down for that.

Looks like you'll have a blast either way!

    Be safe out there!

Any SD folks, I am gonna be leaving Chula around 5am tomorrow to head up. I am pretty sure I am the furthest south. It looks like I'll take the 805 to the 15 north. If you want to convoy, PM me and we can coordinate. :burnrubber:
