I'm down anytime. FWIW the most difficult trail out there is the Black Gap, looks like any decent driver with a 2wd can make it.

A buddy with a 2016 Taco and I are going next week. Will report back with pics and video of the black gap and other cool stuff.

When we did black gap, the sun was starting to go down. Turned into a night run pretty quickly. It was fun.

I wonder if I can make it out this Fall/Winter. I'd love to do the state park with some of the national. All depending on how many vacation days I leave myself after the summer.

I was born in Alpine just north of Big Bend. Just watched a show on Nat Geo about a murder out there in Terlingua just outside of the park. (Badlands, TX if you want to see if it's on "On demand" or Netflix or whatever.

Might be a place where you can meet up and kick off the ride. I'd love to make it down there and meet up with some of you, but I've got a maintenance outage to run and then headed off to the Masters in Augusta so my spring is all planned up. I'll sub this thought so that when you guys go, I can follow along vicariously and enjoyt the pics/vids!!

That's not a lot of time out there.

It's a big park. And things like River Road are pretty much all day.

Have you considered Big Bend STATE park?

I've been considering going and would be interested in a trip in either spring or fall.

I'd like to go to the state park. I hear they have good trails there.

So i'm down for either the state park or National Park @08LTaco wanted to go to the state park and i'm okay with that nobody said I can't take two different trips.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/big-bend-off-road-meet.412248/

I could probably take a Thursday Friday Monday off and have a solid 5 days with enough notice.

I would want to go before it got too hot, I think April/May would be good. Gives sufficient time for prep and planning.

I was wondering why it rode so poorly on what looked to be like a fine road... Then saw it was a Jeep.

Id be fine with a trip maybe beginning of summer. Have sand drags this month, Toyota Jamboree then MOAB in August. Lot of wear on tires meant for 30k miles tops.
