    haha ^ that's redneck.

That's the federal government, man. If we want fire we'll have to go to Big Bend Ranch. Either way, Big Bend has zero light pollution, so we'll be entertained with star gazing.

I'm going, just not sure when. Looking like I may be there the week before. I was going to mix in nights in Alpine, Marathon, and Terlingua as well as a couple of nights camping in the park. I've already got the route planned, but if I decide I'd rather have company then being in complete solitude, count me in.

Should probably designate spots each day to meet then because the park is huge

So nobody is leaving on Saturday?

We can meet at the Park Headquarters or at a Visitor's Center around 1 PM on Saturday.

So you're arriving to the park on Friday and leaving Tuesday?

What are the plans? What trails are we driving and what trails are we hiking?

    Where are we camping?

Where are we fueling up everyday?

Who's taking food? Everyone fends for themselves?

Yeah I'm leaving after my last class (approx 3pm if all goes well) and should be there Friday night)

As for the trails, I haven't been there in a few years and it's my first time having a 4x4 out there. I'll do research and have a game plan.

Camping is very lose there. From what I understand, camping is wherever off the path you'd choose. I'd like to camp further north to avoid the boarder, there are a few stories I'd like to keep from being us. If y'all want to set up a base camp that would be fine, but with the proximity to the boarder I'd suggest against it.

We need to fuel before entering the camp. A tank of gas should be enough for a weekend. There are little towns riddled with tourist traps (like that pool I can never remember the name of) so there are gas stations. Leaving to fuel every day will be a hassle.

As for food, pretty much fend for yourself. I'm probably going to survive off granola bars, water and Monster. If we have to make a run into town we can, but plan to meet your own parties needs as I only have what I brought to school and keep in a dorm.

This is my first time so I'm not sure of where to go but after we meet at Ranger Station and pick up map we can plan from there. I wanna hit all the dirt roads.

If we can get a collection of phone numbers and make a chat on GroupMe in which we can add people as we go I feel that'd be the easiest way. That's what we normally do for larger trips

We tried to stop and all the non chain restaurants we could, I don't remember any that really stood out. Took 90 out there and I-10 back. I enjoyed the sights on 90 better. Crossed a pretty cool lake (you'll know it when you see it) got out and hung out for awhile.

Hey @ScTuna, you should take your trashcan furnace.

So here is a link to a detailed map of Big Bend NP. Study it and let us know what trails (offroading/hiking) you want to hit. Also, read up on the trails and sites on Big Bend's website. We should also plan on where we're going to camp and where we will refuel everyday.

It's not mine. A guy I met in SoCal brought that out.
