It didn't rain much in Terlingua so you may be ok. I wish it was a hair more wet when I was there.

This is something that I saw for group motorcycle rides, but it seems to hold true for Wheeling too!! Hope you guys are having a good time regardless. Post lots of pics when you get back home. I know that the signal may not be the best where you guys are and is probably nil in the park itself!!

I can tell you the only mod I have is 265/75/16 MTR and I conquered Black Gap. We took the trail at 30-45mph. Just gotta slow down on the wash. And I'm DCLB but did use my 4x4 a few times to climb some of the steep hills at Stillwell Store property.

I've got a some for y'all that I'll get up tomorrow sometime when I'm off crap wifi on my laptop. Happy I had sliders today. Decided to not take a bypass and take the more technical route somewhere along black gap and got to really use my drivers side when I slipped off. Otherwise I left no trail untouched that you could take a truck down. Glad y'all made the trip, was a good time.

While waiting for you guys, I'll throw out a few pics from past BB trips. Although we've driven every road in the Park, most of our shots are of landscape or wildlife. Unless there's been a recent rain, the backroads aren't all that challenging. There's a much higher chance of cutting a tire than of getting stuck but they do lead to some awesome scenery. To fully appreciate BB, you need to get out and hike some trails.

An ice storm rolled in on our last day and we were one of the last allowed to leave the Basin before the road was closed. On a previous trip, we backpacked up to the South Rim and had a couple of inches of snow dumped on us overnight. Camera batteries got so cold I couldn't get any decent pics on that one.

Great pics! Yeah I was only there for 1.5 days and the only thing I wanted to do was break the Taco but she's a beast! Very surprised at how well it performed!

The weather was perfect for Saturday and Sunday. I slept in the truck on Saturday night and had to crack the rear window for air.

Thanks Tuna, you need to start working on plans for a return trip NOW. I really envy you guys who don't have to drive 2K miles one way to get there.

Ramon, the weather there varies as much as any place I've been. Some of the pictures in my post were taken in early March a few years back. On that trip, we were in shorts and tee's for several days and then a front moved in, the temps went below freezing and it took me nearly an hour to drag the camper from the Basin campground to the main road (maybe five miles) due to the ice. Gotta admit though, BB is even prettier with ice and snow.

BB is just the tip of the iceberg. You need to plan a trip to Mojave with me if you like BB.
