Sweet. Definitely on my list if I beat the bed up any more. I pulled off my toolbox and assessed the damage yesterday since it was nice out. Not as bad as I was fearing, so I'm just gonna keep sending it. The bed rail bolt pulled through the composite when my toolbox caught a tree off road. Undid the fastener, added a washer to the backside, and good as new (other than the fibers hanging out of a 1" crack). Reinforced the toolbox a little to try to keep the weight off the rails a bit better as well. Should be good for a while.

Is this the west trail by the quarry at Hollister hills?

Set my BigBody to the height of the towers and then bolted them through just like you would on a normal bed:

Rad! I was just up in Hollister for work for the last 2 weeks and got to sample the whole SVRA park, as well as befriend the ranger that heads that facility. Amazing park, the hang out at Hector heights with a 40 deep bronco crew was epic! We all came down the west trail to the quarry and messed around there for a few minutes before leaving.

    Same.

Just got a reply today that sounds like they're still months away for the DIY option. :(

I'm thinking, I'll move the forward most bar in the bed towards the back one board width, then do half width boards in the front with a bar to the center of the front of the bed frame, to that first bar. Then with the open area behind the drivers side, have the spare sit down inside. Then I can cut the headboard down to match the cab.
Still waiting for news on the DIY kits.

I know you used a 3rd gen DCLB in the OP, but it's surely close to the 2nd gen in terms of weight. What was the weight difference switching to the flatbed in that build?

I have 275 lbs in my notes from their website, but the page is gone now - vs the Tacoma bed is ~250 lbs based on internet searches.

Yep, having the spare sit down inside will be quite handy.

    Also waiting.

I messaged them on IG and they replied back that they're just waiting on install videos before releasing the DIY kits... :annoyed:

Little bit of an update here - the DIY kits will be on a longer hold for a few reasons. While our goal is to eventually have a DIY kit, these will be available for sale as in-house builds where we can offer more custom options in the interim. We will be at overland expo PNW on June 28th-30th to show people what we have and what we plan on adding! Our website will be updated with information related to pricing for various models and features prior to the expo.

I would like to say that these things have held up amazing through our combined 21 months of testing. We are really proud of what we have created and have had a lot of fun using them!

Unfortunate requirement for a bolt together product.

Well, dang. That takes me out of the ability to get one. I can't drive from Missouri to California just to pick something up that could be assembled in my driveway...

Hope you guys eventually do come out with the DIY shippable kits, because a cheap flatbed option is the only way I'm considering one.

Any updates on if/when these will be available as a DIY kit @big_gas?
