I'm thinking you are ok with your 1st gen, right? 2nd and 3rd gen are larger if I recall correctly

you need a full size, no question. if i were you and i had to have a truck, i'd get the F150 with the NA V6 (not the eco boost).

I’d want an old TDI wagon for that commute, or maybe a 100 series Land Cruiser if you don’t care about MPG.

    I has a 19 Tacoma, a 20 Denali 6.2, a 23 Tundra, and now a 23 Tacoma.

For OP's usage, I would pick the 23 non hybrid Tundra.

Tacoma and F-150 LED's.jpgDo what I did, Keep the Tacoma and get a full size. I went with a F-150 with the Eco Boost. I wanted a Tundra but the Prices were Crazy High when I was shopping. I already own my house I wasn't looking at buying another one and that's what the dealers around me were wanting to charge for a Tundra.

6'3", 280. No problems here. I don't even think I have the seat all the way back. I think if I had a sunroof I might be complaining about headroom though. It all depends on how you're built.

I would look elsewhere for a truck to commute in. I'm much smaller at 6,1 190 and have no issues with driving a long time, but the gas mileage in these trucks sucks. I drive the speed limit, not 80 on the freeway and struggle to get over 21. I love the truck but am considering getting a second car or trading it in for a quicker and more eco friendly car while the trade in is still high.

I'm 6'3 and when I got my Tacoma was 260, I'm sitting at 215, i daily my Tacoma, and i will say the cab is okay but not perfect in my 2nd gen, my 2003 Hyundai Santa fe gets better fuel economy and has more interior space for first and second row. used tundra can be cheaper than Tacoma's at least in my area. I also commute in my Tacoma, 44miles a day.
