Like many, I suffered the vibrations after lifting and turned to East Coast Gear Supply for their bushing. Along with the parts, bought the tool to make it easier. Had some issue with the hat part of the tool that the threads were not cut all the way so I had to chase the threads. Luckily had another nut so I could double nut it to have something to hold onto. After that ran into issue getting it to seat. It didn't fit and I tried tapping it as the video shows. It ended up breaking the back of the factory bearing and needles went everywhere. Spent 30 minutes cleaning out all the metal parts. Then a trip to harbor freight to get a slide hammer with a 2 jaw puller. That did the trick. Got it out and the new one in with new seal and everything is smooth like butter now.

Aside from the quality part that fixed an annoying issue was the service from ECGS about the part. I shared the info with them and without question, they refunded the tool. Didn't ask for it back, didn't ask for any details. I got an apology and an unexpected refund. That is rare these days. Add that into the super fast shipping and there is no question I'll be doing business with these guys again.

Glad you got it replaced and glad ECGS was so responsive! I broke a bit of the old needle bearing when I did mine also. Decided it was a good time to change the front diff oil and got all the pieces out. And, of course, no vibes after that.

I was planning on doing a flush and fill because that was my concern as well. I think I got all the parts or at least the big ones. Seems to me they could make something like a butterfly anchor that you use in hollow walls that would work better than what they sell.

? - if I run stock height (no lift) will I need this bushing replaced or is this required on lifted taco only?

I've had vibrations at times, both steady and oscillating, since about 3,500mi. No lift here. I need to get around to doing this mod.

If you have vibes that go away when switching to 4Hi, stock or not, it's the needle bearing.

You may have issue and not know it. I didn't notice it until I went up 2". Apparently there is a lot of slop in the driver side bearing and that is what the bushing corrects. I don't think I would do it just to do it because you can run thousands of miles on your needle bearing and not have a problem, but if you have $100 and a few hours and want to do a preempted strike, by all means. If I had bad cv boots, I would probably do it then as maintenance.

I did not. There are quite a few that are vocal about not doing it. It doesn't seem to correct the vibration problem like the bushing does. The biggest concern is that you negate ground clearance by dropping the diff. For me, I might just to get happier CV joints. I ride on the sand so I'm not really concerned about bashing my diff on a boulder.

It seems to me I have very light vibes at 55 mph low rpm overdrive (auto). Not lifted and possibly wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't read it in TW.
