    This is copied from 4x4 parts website when you ad 35" Mud Grapplers to your cart. I don't know at what size you need to buy before the tax kicks in at but I find this un REAL!
    They need to rename this the W.T.F fee
    F.E.T. Fee


    Some larger tires require an extra Federal Excise Tax (or F.E.T). Heavier vehicles with larger tires are likely to cause more damage to roads and bridges. The Federal Excise Tax counteracts the cost of the extra wear and tear on the roads caused by these larger tires

    Actually I googled it. They actually have been charging that fee on tires since the 1920's. Guess I just never looked at my reciepts that close.

    Still lame as shit though.

    I sell tires and make sure I explain to my customers that they pay that tax. What you should be doing is looking up where that money goes.

    It goes to the State of CA so they can create more lame gun laws and that's it!
