Depends on the size. 265/70/16 or 265/75/16 can be bought in a C-rated or at least Discount Tire told me they could.

He said he wanted 265/75/16 KO2s.

I thought that was an E only size for that specific tire.

I may be incorrect. I was pricing out options and the salesman told me it was available. It's not really a common size so I would be surprised if it was available in a C-rated but 70/16 is definitely available in C.

    I'm running 265 75 16s on my 2016 4 cylinder 5 Speed 4x4. Possibly thinking about upgrading to 255 85 16 cooper st Maxx, a 33" tire here in the spring!

Corey, check out a 255/75/17 also.

BFGs here in that size (mounted) were the same 10.5 inch width as my 265/75 but were 1.5" taller (32 inches).

If I keep my truck lifted that'll be the size I go with. 255/75/17.

Tons of load rating and tread options in that size, unlike a 255/85/16 or 255/80/17, and tires are about the same price as 265/75/16.

That's a good idea but I like my bronze wheels way to much to go to a 17" wheel.... but that 255 75 17 is only a 32" tire not a 33"...

    Indeed.

I mentioned it because it's significantly taller and still more 2.7 friendly than an E rated 33.

Would not buy again. Aestetically awesome, but not enough meat for braking. The tires lock up far too easily.

Following this thread. I'm wondering the same about my 2.7L. I want to get some kind of 33" MT, but may have to settle for something a little smaller and lighter. I currently have a 3" lift with 245/75r16, but am planning to go up to a 6" MaxTrac lift. I am concerned that the 6" MaxTrac lift will look goofy with 245 tires. I am considering 275, 285, and 295. I'd prefer some 285 or 295 tires, but am not sure if the little 2.7L can handle them.

That's the first time I've seen Yolo in a long time. I was beginning to wonder if people just stopped saying it, or if they had finally all died off. Looks like there's still some around! :woot:

I ran Toyo M/T on my 2016 SR and it was miserable. The power loss was awful.

    I'd go no bigger than 265/70 17's.

    Stick with an A/T.

    Cooper/Toyo/Falken

The Cooper S/T Max is a great tire but E and weighs in at 55lbs. You will notice it for sure.

That doesn't make any sense. The contact patch is longer and wider than my stock 245/75r16, and those have plenty of "meat" for braking.

I agree with you. I'm still surprised by it. And the tires are just 39lbs. But i'll lock up those brakes with relative firmness every time. Especially downhill. And they've hurt me 2-3mpg. I'll do a 265/70 next.

That just means they have crappy traction, which won't have much to do with the size unless they use different compounds for different sizes.

Sidewall stiffness could play into that a little bit but probably not much if the road is reasonably smooth.
