Holy cow! I think I am gonna commission you to make me some sort of Hi-Lift jack mount. I can keep my ax and my spork in my roof box but that damn jack is too heavy to lift up there. I'm afraid my clumsy ass would put it through a window or drop it on my head.

Well, the coolest place would be on the hood. That's out though because, well, not a Jeep, and again, the weight. Our hoods are heavy enough.

If I had a swingout it would be on there. Since I will be bedlining that cap, I thought about some aluminum brackets mounted to the side of it with reinforcing but I fear over time that will give out.

That leaves me with an in bed mount, which I hate the idea of because the bed is already small. So for that to work it will have to be over one of the wheel wells. I believe the most common mount is one that attaches to the rail somehow or something up there, and then supported by the wheel well or the bed. I am not afeard to drill into the bed.

I was thinking though, What about a cubby like a drawer? It could even be made out of wood. Only it would be attached to the bed and it could have a door on the end so you don't even have to lift it out. Then all you'd have to do is slide it out and then back in again. I could line it with a dense rubber and even bedline it. Hell, make it big enough (read, tall) to hold the ax and shovel in there too.

Always gotta respect the bike, no doubt. The bigger bike thing is why I’m leaving more towards a dyna now instead of the 48. I’m excited to get on one this weekend and get a feel for them so I can start my search

Not yet but I have a panel
I’m starting installing boxes in barn this weekend. That’s part of my plan to have a 220 receptacle at panel at barn it’s under cover
