    No they aren’t a franchise. It’s up to the person running the store to allow it though. It’s in all the systems as a discount code. All of the HDs around me do it. We use it often at HD buying materials for fixing houses. We usually use Lowe’s for appliances but HD for building materials. HD around us has a bigger selection and better prices on those types of things where as Lowe’s is more consumer facing.

    Ya HD seems to be more commercial focused whereas Lowe’s seems to be more consumer focused. My f-I-l in FL kept telling me he wouldn’t shop HD because they won’t do Vet discounts (he’s ex marines) when I was redoing his front fascia/rafter ends and gutters we had to go there. When we got to the register I said do you do military discount the lady looked at me said sure do just need to see proof. :)

    the lumber at lowes here is better...also have drivin access. Home depot you have to load on cart,un load in truck, un load at home. I just like the simple fact im only loading it once

    That sounds like Menards here. We have been buying more from them lately. Just ordered $2500 in kitchen cabinets. Got them the other day and they seem to be better quality than the last place we ordered from and cost less then 1/2 what we would have paid for this house from them.
