Well, as you know, tire performance is so subjective. It can vary greatly even with the same tire on the same vehicle during the same circumstances/situation and the tires can be great one time and not so great the next.

We have pretty steep driveways. The shorter one is straight but steeper and if you slide back down you're backing into trees. The longer one is not quite as steep but is curved and sloped to the downhill side.

One inch of snow in even a front wheel drive car with dedicated snow tires will strand you at the bottom. I'm talking GY Triple Tread tires. That was in 2002 and they were $250ish a pop.

Since we've been up in the country (country boy at heart but grew up in the city) the past 17 years I have had a 1999 Dodge SCLB gasser, a 2006 Dodge 3/4T DCLB diesel, a 2012 Tundra DCLB, a 2014 T4R, the 17' Sport DCLB and now the 19' Pro.

In the beginning BFGs were all the rage. So I had them too. Great tire. Except in our wet, slushy snow, and in the wet red clay. Someone said, "you need to spin that slush outta them to get traction". I did, easily, being pissed, and as soon as I drove another 7' they were loaded up again. I tried General Grabbers, those cool looking red letter ones. Suuu-uucked in the snow.

Not bad, at least I wouldn't lose much money if I started at the bottom pay... but moving is kind of expensive and I'd have to sell my house and stuff etc.... not sure the bf is ready to move to Texas either lol
