    So our new station has one, and we had training to sign off on using the thing. There are a few interlocks to mitigate people from "accidentally" using it and material falling through the holes. I can see why people don't like to use it, but I found it fun.

    While we were practicing, the shirts of some of the more rotund guys would ride up and their belly would act as a brake on the pole... Yeow.

    Class A PPE right there.

    Are you talking about UHMWPE/PP or any sort of thermoplastic?

    You can, but it's expensive compared to more commonly used materials. Another detractor is that it doesn't have the same rigidity (in this application) as cheaper materials, like wood.
